A bloodstained knife with strands of hair attached is among the evidence Salt Lake police seized from the apartment of Mark and Lori Hacking, sources told the Deseret Morning News Saturday. The knife is among numerous items taken — including a set of box springs, some bedding and computers — from the couple's home in the six days since the newly pregnant Lori Hacking reportedly went missing while taking a sunrise jog Monday in Memory Grove. The knife may or may not be a key piece of evidence for Salt Lake police trying to solve the mystery of Lori Hacking's disappearance. But police weren't confirming, denying or even talking about the evidence on Satur- day. "We're not going to talk about anything of evidentiary value," police detective Dwayne Baird said. After learning about the knife late Saturday, Mark Hacking's brother, Lance Hacking, had this to say:

Just couldn't resist that anti-Mormon comment, could you. It seems that no matter what is posted, if it has anything to do with Utah, the anti-Mormon comments come crawling out of the woodwork.

Yeah, these family grate on my nerves. I'm glad they've hired a spokesman. Albeit, he will only say the same things the families have been spouting over and over and over. Until Mark's arrested.
That's much the same picture I've been seeing as each new piece of evidence comes to light. And hey! We're only getting small bits of info from LE. You can bet they have pleaty we don't know about......yet.

Creepy to think that many of us know someone who also lies like this. These murders, this one & the Peterson one & the Michael Peterson one, aren't your typical wife beater men. It's not a situation where the cops have been called a 100 times to the residents for battery or anything. That is what is scarey!
Or, did you ever think that maybe this is becoming way to common of a story, that the "perfect" couple, the "guy next door" not the batterer is murdering his wife?? Maybe this is just shocking America to see so darn much of this!

This is an interesting story. But I can't help but wonder what's going on when Rita Cosby spends 32 minutes on this and not a single moment on Sandy Berger's treason. Salaciousness over Security is a Clinton-era obsession. I thought we were over that, Rita...please get a grip on what matters most.

He was too methodical in cleaning up, buying the mattress to claim he "flipped out". He did too many things to hide his actions to say he just flipped out & any psychiatrist will see right thru this.
if he hacked her up like it seems to be indicating they may never find her...Wild animals at the dump and the such....One thing for sure Mark or Scott didn't love their lovely wifes only themselves..... I just can't even imagine doing this to someone you hated let alone some one you lived with and took the marriage vows...I often wonder what God in Heaven thinks when He looks down on His greatest creation
His family was trying to make excuses for his lies. As soon as I heard that he had lied about Medical School ( and hadn't even graduated from college) and that his wife was missing, I knew he had killed her. The poor woman... He must be a sociopath - lying with the best and getting awway with it. He must have been fooling his family as well, or perhaps they just could not bring themselves to believe the awful truth about him...
