Black Caucus members want to reinstate the draft!
Ramblings' Journal ^ | 6.16.04 | Michael King

Posted on 06/16/2004 2:09:38 PM PDT by mhking

I keep catching hell from folks who want to insist that a new draft is coming, and that the Bush Administration is engineering it so that "their rich kids" won't be caught up in it.

Citizen Smash has done the legwork to find out exactly who is behind this push.

But who is behind this movement to reinstate the draft? Let’s check the Congressional Record.

In the House of Representatives:

Charles Rangel, NY
Neil Abercrombie, HI
Corrine Brown, FL
Donna M. Christensen,VI
William Lacy Clay, MO
John Conyers, Jr., MI
Elijah E. Cummings, MD
Alcee L. Hastings, FL
Sheila Jackson-Lee, TX
John Lewis, GA
Jim McDermott, WA
James P. Moran, VA
Eleanor Holmes Norton, DC
Fortney Pete Stark, CA
Nydia M. Velazquez, NY

In the Senate:

Fritz Hollings, SC

Never mind that both of these bills have been stuck in committee for over 18 months, and have almost no hope of ever seeing the light of day. Now, what Smash doesn't point out here is that the aforementioned Messers. Rangel, Christensen, Clay, Conyers, Cummings, Hastings, Jackson-Lee, Lewis, and Norton are all Democrats and members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Mind you, the "Soul Patrol" are the ones who are most vocal to me about a new draft and "rich white kids" being protected.

Don't believe me? Check the Congressional Record yourself. The bills are S89 and HR163.

So now I ask you. Who really has black folks' best interests at heart, and who is selling out our children for "thirty pieces of silver?"

Funny thing is, it is far lefties I've met who have complained about the draft proposal, ignorant of who is pushing it.

You should see their forehead squish up when I've told them who is sponsoring it...

Out here in N California away from Mad Maxine's district, those who keep pushing this Draft BS are the old white hippies. They are trying to create a social issue to weaken our military and to defeat Bush.

Most are the clipped hair vile women who push abortion, an illegal Mexican in every yard, house and garage and of couse the Watermelon Enviral Jihadism. They drive their old Volvos with save the Whales, No War for Oil and the Clinton/Gore stickers all over them. I have only seen one with an al Querry Sticker.

This bunch of career Marxists is frustrated by the inability of protest movements to gain traction in opposing President Bush and the Iraq War. They know that if the draft is reinstated things will heat up, especially on college campuses.

This, and pretty much only this, is the story behind trying to reinstate the draft.

The lefty's thinking is that if you institute a draft, it will be practically impossible to use the conscripted army without having to weather huge discontent among the "draftees". This is not conspiracy theory, since Rangel for one, has admitted as much.

The hair thing ain't conservative or liberal (considering my wife has worn her hair cropped nearly as short as mine since the early part of our marriage, and if anything, she's getting to be more conservative than me!).

Barring that I've gotta agree with you!

Now don't mention this to the republican leadership. They might be forced to admit it & then, heaven forbid, bring it to national attention. You see the pubbies don't feel right about exposing the other faction in the "Two-Party Cartel". They call it taking the high road. When all else fails then they will ask the opinions of Hatch & Frist & get the RINO spin response.

My wife has let her hair grow longer not be confused with those other creatures.

However, being a short hair guy like my two sons, I know that you have saved a ton of money on shampoo, conditioners and other hair costs with your wife having short hair.

Since 9/11, my wife has gotten a lot more conservative in her remarks and less tolerance for the fools of the left.

Bringing back the draft is fine as long as you draft college students first. They have proven to be of no value to America!

This is a letter I wrote to the editor, It will explain this current so-called crisis

"The Draft is coming. The Draft is coming."

Don't fall for the latest straw dog; There is no draft coming.
While scouting enemy positions on 6/13/04 I found a letter at www.epec.org
saying ".....S 89 and HR 163 which will time the program's initiation so
the
draft can begin at early as Spring 2005 -- just after the 2004 presidential
election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed
now....". In the 6/14/04 edition of the Naples Daily news letter to the
editor
"Congress is quietly planning the return of the draft as early as Spring
2005.... Two congressional bills are in process: H.R. 163 and S.89.".

This campaign of misinformation appears to have started at an Anarchist news

site (their words)
http://www.infoshop.org/inews/stories.php?story=04/05/26/5996885
and at Counterpunch.org http://www.counterpunch.org/levich06012004.html.

Here are the facts. HR 163 is sponsored by Democrat Charles Rangel and
co-sponsored by 14 anti-war Democrats, including "Baghdad" Jim McDermott and

John Conyers (also Staring in the upcoming movie Fahrenheit 911). S89 is
being sponsored by Democrat Ernest Hollings and zero co-sponsors. These two
bills have been sitting in committee since early 2003 and no action is
planed. http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d108:HR00163

If there is any story here it this; "Democrats want to draft women"

Thanks for the ping...glad someone else noticed. The first person I heard mention reinstating the draft was Rangel. It was on Hannity and Colmes. And he was using the same argument that was used to abolish the draft after Vietnam. Seems the lefties want to have it both ways.

Awhile ago I started a thread on this topic:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1137275/posts

People in my firm had gotten one of the spam e-mails claiming that reinstatement of the draft was imminent. I am convinced this is an intentional hoax being spread by the DNC and/or the Kerry campaign.

My suspicions are strengthened by reading a post tonight on another site by an activist Democrat I know saying that Robert Reich made a speech tonight claiming Bush was reinstituting the draft. Of course the post then went off on how "stupid" Bush was for wanting to bring back the draft, and how we all had to vote for Kerry.
