VANITY: The "Truth" about JimRob and Free Republic according to BADJOE
LibertyPost.org | 10/10/03 | BADJOE (Slightly revised by JimRob)

Edited on 10/10/2003 2:27:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Dear Free Republic Friends,

My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.

So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):

I have poisoned the well.

By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.

By my intellectual ineptitude.

By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.

By my biting every hand that fed me.

By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.

By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.

Evidenced by:

One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.

By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.

BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.

Conclusion:

It is a sad day.

For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.

So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?

I can hardly wait.

Is it the 18th yet? Tick, tock.

I personally don't care - BadJoe was a nice guy - but he is being stupid - which he is free to do - but we don't have to like it.

I wonder if all the folks posting negative things about BADJOE here even know who he is.

I DO know who he is. He is an individual who I have met and once called 'friend', and who is now threatening to disclose Jim's trade secrets in what is essentially a temper tantrum over being being required to follow the same rules on FreeRepublic that the rest of us do. That's who Badjoe is.

How dramatic of Joe to release his dossier on the one-year anniversary of storming off in a snit.

Like anyone gives a rat's ass.

..I hate it when old friends part ways.I may be a relative newbie but I was lurking during the 2000 elections.

Free Republic helped me keep my sanity during the recount(That's one reason I owed FR).

I signed up in time for the war in Iraq.We shared all the latest in the Situation room.(There's another reason I owe FR)

I get the latest news and share opinions with others.(That's another reason I owe FR)

I've also found a delightful group to chat with, supportive and fun.(another reason I owe FR)

I get to read John Huang2's essays.(another reason I owe FR!) I'm so glad I finally donated!!It feels good!

Everyone here, BadJoe is a good guy, and has great integrity. The credit card number thing is, frankly, a non issue; please drop it.

That said, the best thing you can do to repute the original posting, is to get off yer collective butts and DONATE! Do it NOW! Sign up for a tiny monthley--increase it next year, if you want, when things get better for you.

Sign up for $3 a month! That's all it takes! I know it sounds like not much, and it takes work to get out the credit card and go through the rigamarole. But you grass roots folks are what gives this place the freedom and independance to give you your daily knowledge.

You know who you are. You read here often. You see high level discusions on freedom, some of which are so intellectual you don't know which end is up. Me, too. But you keep coming back. Me, too.

I've been here since '98, through thick and thin. JimRob started this site because the liberal media was so pro-Clinton it was insane. They had a monopoly on news, and the truth wasn't getting out. JimRob started it to get the truth out. It worked. Without FR, and its spawn, your info comes from CNN.

In fairness, early on FR almost failed many times, and we who believe in freedom gave to the cause. We knew it was sink-or-swim time. At times, it came down to the wire, and we sent in last-second checks, to keep this site alive. Look at it now!

Is it worth 10 cents a day to you, to continue this? Then do it. Now.

Please accept my small monthly contribution as a thank-you for all you've done, are doing, and will continue to do in the name of freedom.

Let me know if you ever need a moderator who sits around in their underwear, smoking, drinking, and thinking up rude things to say to MurryMom:)

BadJoe is a great guy. I love him like a brother, always will. And he's done a lot of great things for Free Republic. He's also a patriot who loves his country dearly. He's just currently a little upset with me because we disagree on some political issues and also because he doesn't like some of the moderators. I'm sure that's ballooned into many othe dislikes by now.

Trade secrets? Well, if there are trade secrets, there are remedies for disclosure.

I'm not defending BadJoe, BTW. Just pointing out that (as you know) propoerly protected trade secrets transcend temper tantrums.

Without getting too mushy with my sentiments, suffice it to say that I appreciate and admire the posts I've seen you make lately, especially on the Freepathon threads. We've had our differences on specific issues in the past, but that only goes to show that I can be as full of (censored) as the next guy.

Thank you.

There's something disturbing about a thread like this attracting so many negative posts about a good person.

There's something disturbing about defending a nutcase who's so bitter about being banned from FR that's he's been stewing about it every day for over a year, meticulously planning his "revenge." Man, talk about having no life. As I mentioned, rubber-room material.

True. And, I don't even know that the moderator's identities could even be considered a "trade secret" - I am not a lawyer (thank deity). I simply suggested that tack as one avenue to investigate.

I have been a monthly donor now for several years...I wish I could give more.

FR was my haven during the 2000 election...and now, especially now, with the war in Iraq and my husband fighting there, FR has been my rock...there are so many wonderful people here that have helped and supported me and my husband.....total strangers from all over the US sending letters and packages to my Mike....enouraging me daily to stay strong......without FR, I would be lost.
