But the lady who 'spilled' the coffee on herself actually poured it into her own lap, and lied to get the payoff.
She said in court that she, "Lost the use of her husband sexually for the time it took to heal."
The judge should have KNOWN it was bogus the second she said the sex part.
No honest woman in her right mind says anything like that at all.

Which era? There's been a number of famous coffee spillages at McD's. The one in the late 80s was legit and McD's paid out and rewrote procedure manuals to have the coffee machines calibrated more often because of it, a more recent one was fake and they proved it.

Leave it to the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall something AFTER IT HAS ALREADY BEEN ON THE MARKEY FOR 2 YEARS. You would have thought they would have done their research before people starting getting hurt and possibly killed on the damn things. That is one of the biggest problems with all Government organizations, including this organization as well as the FDA. They only recall something after they have infiltrated into our society and caused untold damage to citizens.

Late night show host: "Speaking of transportation...Hey, what the heck are you doing ?"

Plain clothes police officer confiscating microphone: "I'm sorry sir, all segue's are being recalled."

I think you can drop the qualifier. A bicycle helmet makes you look like a dork even on a bike. (And most cyclists don't have what I would call an athletic build - especially on the upper body.)

That was the more recent case (earlier this year, late last year). In that case they proved that she couldn't possibly have been burned by McD's coffee, the evidence that she was actually burned was pretty skinny to start with primarily consisting of receipts for burn ointments. The original case in the 80s she went to the hospital and there were pictures taken, then the store in question tested their equipment and found the coffee machine was serving coffe at some insane temperature way past what coffee should be served at.

People try this one on McDs all the time but it has been legit at least once.

It's hard to keep track because there are so many of those cases and most are bogus. But I worked in the McHell machine when the legit one happened and the word came down from corporate to triple check the calibration on all our coffee machines, that's why I remember that one.
