I would just like to take a moment to say I think that President Bush is doing a good job.

It seems like people on this forum have been jumping up and down lately to try to drag down the president: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/945866/posts

I just wanted to take a moment and say that I think he is doing a good job. Do I agree with every issue that President Bush has made? Absolutely not. I do not agree with all of the policy that has come out of the White House lately. I guess what makes me different is that I am a grown up, who operates in the real world. I realize that I am not going to agree with every decision that he makes. I realize he was dealt a tough hand on the economy coming into office, and 9/11 didn't help matters.

I think President Bush represents what I believe in the majority of the time. I think he has been/will be a better President than anyone who is currently running.

Just remember that the extreme minority of people who are posting their attacks on the President are in the extreme minority.

For my main cause, which is taxes, I think Bush is the best option. I wish he had gone further with some things, but he beats the alternatives hands down....

Thanks for this posting. I feel the same way, I think our President is doing a splendid job. he's going a bit left of some issues, I must admit but geeze just think where we'd be now if algore had won. Sad shape indeed and more attacks on our soil would have happened. God bless America, God bless President Bush.

Thanks for your views and the chance to rant.

I'd be happier if W would start thinking about cutting government spending, and stop disabusing himself over the ridiculousness of the "road-map".

Well he is an improvement on Clinton, that is for sure. He is probably the best we could get in 2000 and 2004. But, and it's a BIG but, he isn't really reversing the welfare state, he's not drastically cutting income taxes, he is not abolishing unconstitional parts of the government, he's not reversion Clinton era regulations (which in many cases he has the sole power to do), hell he's not even supporting letting the Assault Weapons Ban expire.

In short, he not much of a conservative. More of a center right Socialist in the mold of Tony Blair.

I'd love to see another Reagan or Thatcher type, but I fear we are too far gone to ever elect such a one again. Bush may delay the inevitable a little, but we'll get there. UN run, one world government, world court supreme. Just not as fast as Gore would have.

A lot of us feel the way you do. Good post. I will take it a step further.

I feel that some of the things he is currently doing are just a means to assure a relection in 04, unlike his father's mistake. When re-elected I hope he will become a full time Republican again and change some of the crap that he is currently supporting.

Just remember that President Bush didn't have a lot of votes to spare in 2000, tautologies notwithstanding.

"Good Job?" I don't know- I have severe doubts. But then what was the alternative? Gore? And at least for more years of Clinton criminality continued? What is the upcoming alternative? Kerrey? Dean? Lieberman? Have problems with his policies and his performance? Yes I do. Is he a corrupt criminal or totally morally bankrupt individual? No. There really is no alternative to Bush. Measured by how a Democrat would act as President Bush is doing a good job.

start thinking about cutting government spending

I could be wrong but he first had to stop the pipeline of funds coming in to get Congress attention on priority spending.

Considering the mess the overall encomony was already in, speaking specifically of the corporation corruption of various types, the hand automatically dealt to whoever stepped into position of leadership of the country, blatant lack of integrity in the White House before Bush, and the lack of support and willingness to work for the good of the country that Bush is dealing with, ie media, liberals and those out to trash the country, how would the complainers change things for the better? Inquisitive minds want to know.

I agree completely. Thank God for Bush.

And thank God Bush is his own man and not a conservative robot as so many here would prefer he be.

Amen. I made an attempt to try to understand some of his recent decision by simply putting my arguement in the form of a question. Damn. I needed a wallet and three handkerchiefs to hold up my pants.

But I also, met some really cool Bush loving FReepers.
