Vanity: Is protecting Constitution no longer goal of Freerepublic.com?
Me

Posted on 02/28/2003 10:03:14 AM PST by libertylady

I have recently noticed that the home page of Free Republic no longer has the icon at the top which states that one of the goals of this website is protecting our freedom and our Constitution. Can anyone help me shed some light on this? I would hope that this is a temporary change and not an official declaration made by the staff of this website. With the lack of articles and lack of alarm posted on this website about the Draconian Patriot 1 and Patriot Act 2 I have began to wonder about whether this site really does support the Constitution.

Mr Robinson isn't closely associating himslf on a personal level with known tokers and dopers either, therefore, he has no worry about warrants being served.

He's followed your advice to jimt, yet he still opposes the things jimt opposes; ergo your advice to jimt was irrelevant to his concerns.

Well, do you have a viable alternative?

We are going to continue knocking out as many Democrats as possible from our government, federal state and local! It's the only way to destroy the American-hating, Liberty-hating liberals/socialists/marxists! Vote them out!

I agree, but then you get the situation where the libs know they can't win as registered Democrats so they register as Republicans. That's why it is dangerous (maybe too strong a word) to blindly vote "Republican".

typically throughout history, when the gov't treads in these grey areas during times of war, when peace resumes, they exit the grey area.

Provide evidence for your claim.

Principle before party.

That's why, when there's no one running against a RINO, I won't vote for him/her.....although, I'll vote all the rest. But then the Rats came along in Florida and said the "no votes" were actually meant to be a Rat vote, lol.

Hey OWK! Long time no read you...

You have been around here long enough to know that liberals in Republican uniforms are better than liberals in Democrat uniforms.

Avoid those temptations for sin/breaking the law - you'll stay honest, clean and sober -

As your reply is an utter non-sequitur, you seem to have trouble understanding.

Let me try one more time.

NONE OF THE PEOPLE I'M DESCRIBING AS INJURED WERE DRUG USERS OR POSSESSORS. Yet they were injured in the ridiculous WOsD. Un-Constitutionally, I would point out, in fact in direct violation of the Constitution.

And thus the slide into oblivion continues.

Standing idly by doesn't work. I vote for the most conservative candidate.

Great idea, only it won't work. There are over 100,000,000 people who don't and won't vote that way. And I doubt you will ever get enough people to switch to the Constitution or Libetarian party (or whichever party of the moment is considered to be the "principled" party) to gain a working majority.

He's followed your advice ... [but]

I think you've wandered off into the theortical, hypothetical weeds now ... I don't presently have a cold, but I hate detest cols and also being opposed to the propagation of 'colds' -

- by your logic I should *not* have that viewpoint since my ox is not immediatly getting gored by a 'cold' ... this is not entirely logical on your part.

Mr Robinson can still oppose no-knock warrants and roadside searches on behalf of all those that warrant no-knock warrants and road-side searches for the reason of their "personal habits and lifestyles".

And, in the meantime, you surrender it all back to the Democrats and socialists.

Standing idly by doesn't work.

Nor does pretending that having an "R" next to one's name, is any indication of their willingness to defend the Constitution.

Legalizing drugs is NOT a goal of FR.

Nor should it be a goal for a free republic, such as the U.S.

Doubtful.

I suppose, but I've seen it happen when I lived in NH and now that I'm in FL.

As long as you continue allowing the Democrats to have their way, yes, the slide continues.
