This is a video I've wanted to make for many years. I've always liked this song, but no one ever created a half-decent edit with it.
TOPICS: Heated Discussion
KEYWORDS: africa; music; rhodesia; video
It is a long way, for sure.

The United States (and UK) did Civilization a great disservice by selling out Rhodesia.
They stood tall against the Castro and Soviet forces for as long as they could -- but a brainwashed West sold them out.

I feel the same way. I have so much respect for how hard the Rhodesian Armed Forces fought against Mugabe and the other commies from ZIPRA and ZANLA.

You are 100% correct.

It's based, of course, on the WWI standard
"It's a Long Way to Tipperary", a song that has
it's own long and varied story.
But considering Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and South Africa another song was so popular that both the British Army and the Boers sang variations of it during their conflict between 1899 and 1902:"Marching to Pretoria".
It amuses me no end that the Leftist grade school music teacher who so loved that tune had no clue it was a theme for militaristic imperialism. Boo yah!
