Driving the news: Trump, in a Monday Truth Social post, also said he'd also target "Highly 'Inaccurate,' Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES."
Trump has argued mail-in voting was a source of cheating in the 2020 election, despite there being no evidence of widespread fraud.
Trump also incorrectly claimed that the U.S. is the only country in the world that uses mail-in voting. Many countries offer some form of postal voting.
The latest: Asked about his post Trump said "we're going to stop mail-in ballots because it's corrupt."
He said he'd start with an executive order "that's being written right now by the best lawyers in the country" to end mail-in ballots.
In addition to domestic mail-in voting, millions of Americans who live overseas are eligible to vote absentee, such as military members and their families.
Worth noting: Trump claimed the states are merely "an agent" for the federal government in tabulating votes and must do what the president tells them.
But the Constitution says the times, places and manners of holding elections for Congress "shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof," — except as to the place of choosing Senators, per Cornell Law School's Legal Information Institute.
Provisions of Trump's March executive order making sweeping changes to federal elections, including a proof of citizenship requirement, have been blocked in court.
Steve Vladeck, a Georgetown law professor, described Trump's comments as "bluster" in a social media post, saying the Constitution "gives precisely zero power over elections to the President."
Reality check: "ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING," Trump wrote.
Vote.gov, however, says that states have security measures in place to ensure all returned ballots are official and filled out by the proper eligible voter.

Bull
Putin isn’t the only one who questions the security of mail-in ballots. Anyone with common sense does the same.
What a weird headline.
Moar lying from Axios.
Axios, Politico, Washington Compost, The Crap Hill, LA Slime, New York Slime, CNN,CBS ABC, NBC, MSNBC: all are based on one objective—never let the truth get in the way of the agenda.
The world needs to know we have a legit president.
That’s all
Dan Bongino often points out that even the New York Times had an article about the increase in voting fraud connected with increase in vote by mail.
How about this for a weird headline?
51 Stupidity Agents just signed a declaration that voter fraud doesn’t exist in America, and it’s all a Russian psyop.
Russia interference with Democrat election interference?
I would like to end in mail-in ballots, but not because Putin ordered us to. Why did Bush and Obama get to make him our emperor?
Plenty of evidence of fraud in several states but when you use a word like widespread it gives you permission to lie and suggest it's no fraud.
“despite there being no evidence of widespread fraud.”

And this was just a sample, not the total amounts.

Incredible that ANYBODY would believe that crap!
Right, Trump said we need to stop mail-in ballots because Putin said so. Makes total sense. Of course, there are more than enough morons out there who I’m sure think it actually does.
We have large-scale, systemic and by design, election fraud in the US.
Politicians and their stooges in the bureaucracy have “by design” created a system that lends itself to fraud.
They might not per say commit the fraud themselves, but they know it’s being done and they build into the system doors that are left unlocked through which fraud can be committed, may it be vote harvesting, etc.
We need to end two things:
1.) Restrict the mail in ballot only to a few rare exceptions: service members overseas etc.
You cannot entirely get rid of the mail in ballot. There are legitimate exceptions that require its use to afford all citizens the opportunity to vote. But it’s also something which can EASILY be exploited by those trying to manipulate an election outcome.
2.) Completely get rid of digital systems for elections. Whoever the genius was that even allowed their use in the first place, should get a dunzen hat and be forced to walk around wearing it in public.
These are massive vulnerabilities.
Well said. If voting could be reformed as you stated, we will be well on our way to save this republic.
“no evidence of widespread fraud.”
Please define “widespread”. There were allegations of many, many different types of vote fraud in GA in 2020. One type had conclusive evidence and proved over 3,000 (of the 12,000 vote difference) were vote fraud.
The other types of vote fraud allegation were never seriously investigated. Mail-In ballots that were mailed to movers, non-citizens, dead and vacant buildings and vacant lots was probably the biggest source of vote fraud...that same as it was alleged to be in the Democrat primary a few months previously. A few anecdotes were proven. There was no serious, competent attempt to prove “widespread”. But “widespread” is likely the best description.
The “widespread” statement does not specify a time period. Certainly I proved widespread vote fraud in IL decades ago.

As we know, Grabbin’ Noisome is planning a special election to return the power to draw Congressional districts to the State Legislature. Anybody with functioning brain cells knows that the only way to win that special election would be an epic level of ballot fraud and manipulated vote counting.
To the former (and this might help nationwide), Trump could instruct the Postal Service to refuse to process mail-in ballots without sending them certified mail in order to guarantee a chain of custody. That takes a signature and voter ID if Trump specifies it.
I just want to see the meltdown when he writes that Executive Order. If anyone else has proposed this, I apologize for not acknowledging it. I was just aspired into thinking it worthy of consideration.
