The Ireland-Israel Alliance has described as shocking an incident in which a businessman who was visiting Dublin from Tel Aviv said he was spat at while dining with a colleague and verbally abused by a group.
They say it was shocking incident of pure hatred and said they expected gardaí (police) to follow it up.
Tamir Ohayon, 26, from Tel Aviv, Israel, was visiting Dublin for a business conference.
He said that nobody intervened during the “attack” and that they “chose not to care”.
“People just kept eating,” he said.
“I felt helpless and disappointed. I saw faces of people watching me be assaulted.”
Mr. Ohayon said that he did not feel safe in Dublin after the incident and “locked” himself in his hotel room.
He is now in Berlin and said he “didn’t realize how scared I was”.
“I didn’t sleep the whole night. I don’t think I’ll ever step back in Ireland,” the young man added.
Gardaí (police) say they are investigating a public order incident at a Dublin bar that happened at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.
An Garda Síochána (Irish police force) said in a statement that no injuries were reported.
Footage of the incident is circulating online.
Cathaoirleach (Chairman) of Dun-Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Jim O’Leary, condemned the incident as “pure, unadulterated anti-Semitism”.
“When people can spit at visitors in a bar and nothing happens, that’s where we are at.”
He said that Jewish people in Dublin feel “under pressure” and “marginalized”.
“I would hope that this is an isolated issue,” Mr. O’Leary added.
The restaurant didn’t eject the offender?
>> they expected gardaí (police) to follow it up
Yeah... good luck with that.
Disgusting.
Unfortunately not.
Thanks for the detailed, actionable information! Next time I visit Dublin, I'll be sure to keep a look-out for those mean, ol' grups.
Oops! I mean "groups."
Regards,
Ireland is experiencing the return of the snakes.
Spitting on someone is
considered asault...
Arrest and prosecute?
When leftists and anti-semites see college students acting up, or hear of vandalism and blocking of freeway ramps as “protests” they become emboldened and think they can get away with something, too. Plus, it is well known that people in a mob do bold things they would be reluctant to do alone.
This reminds me of the apes in 2001 A Space Odyssey who watched nervously as one stepped ahead to touch the monolith and then one by one went up to touch it, too.
Also a documentary of night vision film of the death of the lead elephant at night in a cave. One came up to very timidly sniff at and then dare to touch the dead elephant. Once knowing he was dead they urinated on him (sad) and the narrator said the others would fight to show who could be the new leader.
I think the so called “human race” hasn’t risen any distance above either.
In this kind of situation the victim has to say: "This is an emergency. I don't know these people. Please help me."
It is so quaint that the Irish protestants and catholics were fighting each other for years. Now they know who the real enemy is, and it is named Mohammed.
Same thing happened at airports to many of our combat soldiers returning in uniform from VN; public spitting on our veterans, the police were there and did nothing about it.
No blah blah blah!!!!
Irony. A Jewish person feeling safer in Berlin than in Dublin.
Makes me want to wear any color but green on St. paddys day.
I own one orange shirt ... and St Patrick’s Day is the only day that I wear it.
I think something like that is ‘actionable’
Re “Actionable”
Oh definitely… grab the motherf’er by his throat and squeeze until eyes pop, then ask if he wants to spit again.
That’s the action in question.
“Achtung, Juden” is making a comeback among liberals.
