Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has called for a campaign for the “liberation” of Puerto Rico from the United States. […]
Although the chances of Puerto Rico being invaded appear unlikely, the comments serve as a reminder of the Venezuelan challenges that await President-elect Donald Trump when he returns to the White House on January 20.
Maduro invoked Simón Bolívar, the Venezuelan soldier who liberated much of South America from Spanish rule, as he spoke about Puerto Rico.
“Just as in the north they have a colonization agenda, we have a liberation agenda,” Maduro said during the closing of the International Anti-Fascist Festival in Caracas on Saturday. “And our agenda was written by Simón Bolívar. The freedom of Puerto Rico is pending, and we will achieve it with Brazilian troops…leading the way.” …

So they can become another Haiti?
I wonder what the Puerto Ricans themselves think of this.
You’d be all for communists invading Puerto Rico?
Could be a brassiere-lion. A lot gets lost in translation.
Venezuela has proven oil reserves of 300 billion barrels. Largest in the world by far.
DO IT
Give it a try fat boy. Let’s see how that works out for you.
That would be great!
That would be hilarious.
Take a country as impoverished as your own. Genius.
“On To Sudan!” could be the next battle cry.
But wait! There’s more!
If you order your Puerto Rico now, we’ll add 1 free Haiti to your order!

Plausibly (or speculatively) Amerike's name could have been attached to the new lands as a merchant, customs officer, and an investor in Cabot's voyages. In that era, ship working charts sometimes had a individual name attached to the port or region where trade was conducted or rights were claimed on behalf of investors. Amerike's overlapping capacities would logically have made him a leader and given his name prominence on the charts where new lands were marked out for trade on behalf of Cabot's Bristol group of supporters.
With the last name Amerike a better fit for America than Amerigo, this alternative theory has always seemed credible to me. Until someone finds persuasive documentary evidence though, most historians will insist otherwise.
Please take Mexico Island off our hands.
Great idea! Get Maduro to take all the Haitians home with him to Venezuela! Who could say “No”?
Okay...
If Puerto Ricans wanted to be “liberated” from the US, they would have voted for it. So far, they don’t seem interested.

Please Do.!
90% of Puerto Ricans would prefer to becoming a US state (or remain a US territory because they pay no federal tax).
Less than 10% want to become an Independent, sovereign nation.
So Maduro needs to look in the mirror. Venezuelans want to be liberated from HIM. /spit
I wholeheartedly agree. Let’s ditch PR.
LOL...Great Movie! :-)
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro looking for a new place to send it’s prisoners?.
