Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has called for a campaign for the “liberation” of Puerto Rico from the United States. […]
Although the chances of Puerto Rico being invaded appear unlikely, the comments serve as a reminder of the Venezuelan challenges that await President-elect Donald Trump when he returns to the White House on January 20.
Maduro invoked Simón Bolívar, the Venezuelan soldier who liberated much of South America from Spanish rule, as he spoke about Puerto Rico.
“Just as in the north they have a colonization agenda, we have a liberation agenda,” Maduro said during the closing of the International Anti-Fascist Festival in Caracas on Saturday. “And our agenda was written by Simón Bolívar. The freedom of Puerto Rico is pending, and we will achieve it with Brazilian troops…leading the way.” …

I think so.
Obviously.
I lived in Venezuela prior to Chavez. It was great and had the highest standard of living in South America. It was corrupt but no less corrupt than our nation today. The corruption made the people vote for Chavez in a free and fair election. That was the last free and fair election in Venezuela. Chavez as Maduro lost all elections after the one election of Chavez.
Venezuela is now destitute and a failing nation ruled by a dictator. This is very sad. I have many fond memories of the Venezuela of the past.
I well remember a comment I made to my wife in early seventies. We had went back to the United States on vacation and things were so different. I told her, “I want to go home.” I meant Venezuela.
OK, but you have to take AOC, too.
Let’s Roll! Do it! ROTFL!
Yes. AOC and JLo.
Just give it to him.
Your comment is irrelevant and absurd. Rick is one of the best men you could ever meet. 🙄
If you say so!
As they sang in West Side Story:
Puerto Rico,
You lovely island . . .
Island of tropical breezes.
Always the pineapples growing,
Always the coffee blossoms blowing . . .
Puerto Rico . . .
You ugly island . . .
Island of tropic diseases.
Always the hurricanes blowing,
Always the population growing . .
If it has no advantage to us, why not let Venezuela have it? Unless that puts us at some kind of disadvantage.
This Maduro guy is a joke. What’s he going to liberate, a Puerto Rican rum factory? Ninety percent of the Puerto Rican population has already “liberated” itself by relocating to the State of Florida, in case no one’s been watching. The invasion began in 2017 with the hurricane they couldn’t get out from under, and hasn’t stopped yet. Orlando is overloaded with them. And Tampa is right behind it.
Dude, check the calendar, you are running out of time. Xiden would have been ok with “just a little incursion.” Why not go for Haiti while you’re at it.
Awesome!
Is there a GoFundme?
No one takes him seriously at all!
Good idea...
End the Venezuela problems, once and for all...
Maduro becomes ever closer to meeting the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force.
I don’t think it’s necessary to be that flashy. But the wages of poking the bear are having your head ripped off. He’s got to go
A brazillion? That's a lot of troops!
Insensitive joke aside, Puerto Rico does have a toxic waste problem that feds are slow to fix
You know, I’d be all for it, if the actual people of Puerto Rico wanted it.
But they don’t, at least the vast majority don’t. So I think there’s his answer.
