Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday criticized Republican Donald Trump’s promise to deport millions of people who are in the United States illegally, questioning whether he would rely on massive raids and detention camps to carry it out.
Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s annual leadership conference that the nation can find both a pathway to citizenship for those who want to come and at the same time secure the border.
“We can do both, and we must do both,” she said.
Trump, for his part, leaned heavily on his alarmist message on immigration as he held a rally in Uniondale on New York’s Long Island, focusing the bulk of his remarks on the subject. …

Why the hell hasn’t she already secured the border? Where the hell has she been? Trump had the border under control and they reversed it. Democrats always defend the indefensible.
Harris is now campaigning for Trump. America overwhelmingly wants illegals deported.
She wants anyone who just shows up inside our borders to glide right into citizenship. No one who is here illegally should ever be eligible for citizenship. That degrades the citizenship of people born here, as well as that of naturalized citizens who took the time and effort, and incurred the expense, to come here according to the laws of the United States.

America to Kamala Harris: Each of those illegal aliens has a path to citizenship. Here it is:
(1) Return to you home country.
(2) Apply to immigrate based on MERIT!
(3) If you are selected, come to the USA and get a job, pay your taxes, and do not commit any crimes.
(4) Apply to take the citizenship test and pass it.
Any alien who cannot follow that process which is enshrined in US law should get the hell out of the country.
Any politician who allows illegal aliens into the country should leave the country for a garden spot like Jamaica...or Haiti.

The same hold for President Trump's rallies. Trump lays out specific actions that he'd take, sometimes in a tongue-in-cheek delivery, but it's things he'd seriously want to do.
Rather than hold news conferences of her own where she can lay out in detail her agenda objectives, she'd rather let Trump hold his conferences and then use whatever he says against him in attack ads and prepared debate rebuttals. By not holding press conferences of her own, she denies President Trump (and the American people) the benefit of knowing what she stands for in advance of an organized debate.
Harris avoids saying anything specific, sticking to rehearsed platitudes and vague imageries instead. The next time Kamala Harris says "I was raised in a middle-class neighborhood..." someone should reply:
"In Canada!!! Where they DON'T have a first amendment or a second amendment!!! Or a ninth and tenth amendment!!!""No wonder you want to ban free speech, confiscate our guns, and have government do everything. You weren't raised under our Constitution!!!"

If the AP characterizes President Trump's message as "alarmist," then, to be fair, it should also characterize Harris's message as "somnambulistic."

To be honest, the situation during the Trump administration was only marginally better (though at least the proper mindset was prevailing).

The illegal border crossing was increasing at the beginning of the Trump Administration. There were multiple reasons, but the biggest was Biden (while VP) going to Central and South America telling people to come across the border, and providing documentation on how to work the ‘system’.
The illegal crossers rate declined slowly due to actions by President Trump. They were fought tooth and nail by the Deep State. So yes, the situation was marginally better under Trump than it was while Biden was VP and currently.
I would be wary of using the phrase “to be honest”. It implies the speaker is usually not honest. I know the phrase is popular, but that is because most of us parrot each other. Many people use words without fully grasping what the words mean. One day, we will be reduced to the societal level of the movie IDIOCRACY. It’s already happening.

She's been too busy interviewing new staff members , as the former ones keep resigning. And she has a large staff. Almost holds the all-time record for number of staff.
