Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he does not regret saying the Israeli response to the 7 October Hamas attack was becoming “something more approaching revenge”. […]
Asked if he regretted the use of the word when commenting on Israel’s actions in Gaza, and if it would hamper Irish diplomatic efforts, he said he did not regret its use.
He later said: “When the Tánaiste [Micheál Martin] and I take the positions that we do, we do so because we think it’s the right thing. Ultimately, this is about civilians. Israeli civilians who died and were injured, and also Palestinians who are now experiencing a very difficult situation. We’ve always taken a view since day one that we condemn Hamas’ attack unequivocally; no excuse for it whatsoever. Israel has a right to defend itself, but it has to do so in a way that’s proportionate and in line with humanitarian law.” …

Proportionate crap again. What’s proportionate to burning people alive including babies. Chopping of heads. Raping the living and defiling the dead. Taking hostages including children. Thus ahole makes me ashamed of my Irish ancestry
He’s only half-Irish too. His father, Ashok Varadkar, was born in Bombay, India.
Indians are taking over Europe and pushing whites out.
A bum bandit hamas ass kisser. SOB should go hire his bum out in Gaza. See how long he lasts
We hear these death tolls from a regime that lies about everything, but in any case, if hamas were expecting kind treatment after what they did on October 7, they are out to lunch, surely they would have expected this kind of response. The fact that they would expect it tells me they might have been promised active support, possibly by Iran, and either that has not yet begun, or it was another lie. Israel needs to be careful not to over-commit in Gaza in case trouble breaks out from Lebanon and Syria. But they clearly don’t intend to pause or stop until all hostages are freed and even then they will likely keep going until they have reduced hamas to an empty shell.
They expected their media pals to have worked their hamas ass kissing magic by now. But the imbeciles got it going too fast with the hospital lie. So it’s kind of cry wolf. Plus there savagery was too over for the top western ass kissers to straight away get into pro hamas propaganda mode. They just couldn’t cover up
Revenge in this case is a good thing. If it is a motivating factor then it will help keep the soldiers at it until the job is done.
The crowning irony is that the Irish are still seeking revenge against the English for Cromwell.
The Irish have a strong anti-colonial bent. During the troubles that preceded Congo obtaining independence, Irish UN troops sided with the natives and against the Belgian settlers, who were white and Catholic, just like the Irish. Then we have to recognize that there were many Axis sympathizers in Ireland during World War II. Perhaps not a majority, but significant enough. Many thousands of Irishmen did volunteer to join the British Army.
The Irish: over 700 years of bad decisions. Why stop now?
Nuff said.
If you look at Soviet rhetoric during the cold war, one of their favorite themes was so-called anti-colonialism.
