It has been named the happiest place on Earth - but according to one very unhappy Disneyland guest, the once-beloved theme park has all but lost its magic entirely.
A Reddit user took to the website to slam the iconic park, claiming the exorbitant ticket prices and long wait times have become so 'atrocious' that visiting the tourist hot spot is no longer 'worth the effort or the money'.
'Literally everything is a queue,' the user complained in the Unpopular Opinion subreddit. 'Going to the bathroom, Queue. Want to eat? Queue. Want to buy a souvenir? Queue. Want to get a glimpse of something? Queue...'
'We purchased a genie+ pass was just enough to get us on a few rides, the one attempt we made to get on a ride without the genie pass, we waited in line for 2 hours only to have the ride break down,' they said. 'Of course Disneyland doesn't do rain checks unless you have a fast pass...'
The final straw for the unhappiest visitor on earth was the quality of the rides they did manage to go on.
'The nail in the coffin is that Disneyland doesn't really offer things that other amusement parks don't offer anymore,' they bemoaned.
'Their ride technology and themed areas are on par with places like Universal Studios (which is less than half the cost),' they continued. 'Any edge they have on quality is completely diminished by the sheer amount of people and lines you have to compete with constantly.'
The disillusioned Disney fan said they've also observed that people don't notice the detail or work that has gone into the park when there are hordes of people.
'Its pretty apparent that Disney's popularity just continues to soar and ticket prices continue to rise,' the user continued.

They even had the whole "It's a small world after all" brainwashing stuff.
I read an article in the 2000s when they started using bio metric passes and face recognition
In the 2010s I heard ads nonstop on the radio about how you could audition to make your little girl the next disney slut.
I think it highly unlikely that I would ever pay money for anything disney today.
My Grown kids were upset and boycotted disney when they got rid of the starwars kickboxing chick.
When Disneyland changed from being themed and having a wonderful atmosphere to being an amusement park and operating as babysitting services for the local kids/teens, it stopped being fun.
Likewise, I went to Disneyland in the early 70’s, my first and only time. My girlfriend at the time thought it was the greatest place you could ever think of going. I thought it was pretty good...for kids, I suppose.....and overpriced bigly.
Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded!

I remember disney “gay day” and reports of homos trying to drag off children every time “gay day” came around.
And They just announced a 9% increase in ticket prices
Thats why your girlfriend liked it. Kids like it.
I was there even before it became Disneyland. My uncle had a chicken ranch on the site. It was there that I first heard roosters crow in the morning. Some of those roosters may have wound up lying next to some mashed potatoes, peas, and a roll with boysenberry jam, because Knott's Berry Farm was one of my uncle's clients. By the way, my mother worked at Knott's as a waitress at the time of Henry Wallace's vice presidency.
I haven't been to Disneyland since 1969, and I live nine miles away.
1) Don't raise your kids on Disney or Nick television, so they won't hold their breath until you take them to Orlando.
2) Take your kids camping or hiking or golfing or bowling - anything. Do something with them other than use the product of evil minds to babysit them.
3) When reward time comes around (all chores done, report cards all pass inspection, etc.) go to a place like Knoebels Amusement Park or another family owned/family themed park. You'll have just as much fun. Knoebels is the best (w/ free admission and free parking), but there are many others out there.
they should develop a ride with Taylor Swift. She seems to have the midas touch right now.
She is making a fashion statement tonight at the Chiefs game with a windbreaker wearing it off the shoulder on one shoulder. That would drive me crazy. The windbreaker by Erin Andrews is already sold out on two sites.
Billion Dollar woman and no stopping her yet.
Cursory review online indicates $30 in 1959 is equivalent to $317 today.
We can all do some math and see that Disney has gone way up in price after adjusting for inflation.
Obviously people like it or she wouldn’t have to stand in long lines. They try to raise prices to cut the amount of visitors so lines get shorter, but it hasn’t worked yet.
If Walt was still alive, he’d be horrified at what his beloved company has become.
I used to live in Fullerton and we would go several times a year, usually when we had visitors. We could see the fireworks every night from our upstairs bedrooms. Our last visit was in 2002. I don’t think I will ever go back again.
Loved Knott’s Berry Farm. Much more homey....
If one could harness the energy of Walt rolling in his grave, you could power a large city.
LOL- He was a national treasure-
Wrong.
If they wanted to cut the amount of visitors they would just restrict the number of people they let in.
It is not that complicated.
