A leading doctor who threw a backyard party for his sister's birthday in Queens claims their group was 'hosed' with water by a 'racist' white neighbor during a noise dispute
Dr Yves Duroseau, who was the first US physician to receive the covid vaccine, and more than a dozen of his guests allege that neighbor Marcus Rosebrock, violated their civil rights by attacking the group.
Rosebrock, a German national, denies the allegations and 'rejects any characterization that he is racist', according to a statement from his lawyer.
Guests included Rigo Morales, a record executive who has worked with Eminem and 50 Cent, along with lawyers and banking bosses. The suit said many of those present were friends Rosevony met at Fordham Law School.
They enjoyed a nine-course al fresco dinner cooked by TV chef Vanessa Cantave, who won the Bravo reality cooking competition Rocco's Dinner Party in 2011.
At 9.50pm when the party was 'winding down', the female defendant known as Jane Doe 'entered the Duroseau home uninvited with a large German Shepherd and demanded that the music playing in the backyard be turned down', according to the lawsuit.
Dr Duroseau told the woman the party would be ending soon and requested that she leave his property, before he returned to his yard to continue socializing.
But soon after, Rosebrock, whose yard neighbors Duroseau's, 'took his water hose and began water hosing [the guests] in the Duroseau's backyard to get them to disperse', according to the suit.
The suit said the incident created 'a scene reminiscent of 1960s Birmingham, Alabama, when white law enforcement officers used fire hoses to douse, assault and batter African Americans

It’s always:
Race,
Class,
Gender.
“That’s why, the two times I have had noise problems from neighbors, my 158 decibel Leslie train horns, air compressor and I stayed on my property.”
I have a train horn on my coach. I have to be careful when and where I use it, it causes people to wreck their cars. lol
Have plenty of popcorn handy.
“German” Shepard, damn Nazi dog!
First question: Did he invite her?
As a 13-time German shepherd owner I can attest it’s never a good idea to bring a German shepherd to a confrontation. One dog bite and your best friend is put down (it’s always the big dog’s fault).
Pet peeve: it’s spelled shepherd, not shepard.
Another story based on the claims of a litigant, with no balancing investgation by the “reporter”.
If a neighbor has to go over to your home to ASK you to turn down extremely loud music at 10 pm, YOU are the problem. The proper response is to apologize profusely and turn it down immediately, not kick the can down the road with soe claim that you’ll wind it down “soon”. Is there perhaps a history of 200 dB events going on into the wee hours...
Contrary to popular belief, the eight-course al fresco dinner is most appropriate when hosting record producers who once worked with Eminem.
However you want to spin it WRT racism, it’s Greater New York and civilization has broken down.
It’s animals claiming their territory.
This thread has some of the reasons why an HOA neighborhood isn’t always a bad thing.
I caught that too. Nine courses— how gauche can you get! Horrid.
“Right there, she crossed the line.”
Agreed! Hubby and I were just in Forest Hills last week. And btw, if anyone doesn’t know, Forest Hills is not a “suburb” it is a neighborhood in the borough of Queens, NYC.
Some people are crazy. I once had a neighbor in my apt. building who called the cops on me because I was washing dishes. This is a true story. I was washing dishes at probably 11 PM and my kitchen backed up on to her bedroom. But it really was just dishes, it wasn’t like I was banging pots and pans around. I had the cops come to my door over this nonsense.
Finally this neurotic woman moved to the country. I hope the owls, crickets, and whatever else you got kept her up all night for the rest of her life.
And, fwiw, she and I are both white. But she was insane and I am not.
Don’t live in an apartment, or in Queens, if you can’t take a little noise.
Sheesh!
Dogs and fire hoses! This is just Yankees being Yankees. Disgusting people all around.
My HOA was useless. Made complaints about noise, even recordings.
They would make contact and the trash would be at it again in a few months.
“extremely loud music at 10 pm”
OK, don’t want to be too snarky, but where do you live? This is NYC, the city that never sleeps, and it was SATURDAY NIGHT.
I could be wrong, but do believe the legal line is 11 PM.
Or these folks should move to your neck of the woods.
Signed,
A person who is really grateful our neighbors never called the cops on us or turned a garden hose on us either and we are in NJ now.
NARRATIVE! NARRATIVE! NARRATIVE!
It's not just one gene, but that's generally true of all wild predators. When low-empathy behavior is observed in humans, it's termed psychopathy, but in the jungle, that's the rule rather than the exception.
Most human evolution occurs during tribal warfare. It's the special environmental pressure that selects for improving brain hardware and software at just the right rate, while leaving most other animals in the same environment untouched.
In Europe, Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons were at war for 10,000 years. They were competitively matched, until the Cro-Magnons evolved better thinking and teamwork, and trumped their competitor. The Africans did not participate.
Good point, and an excellent comment all around. I don't remember Wade having extrapolated like that, but it makes perfect sense. Saved for future consideration.
If it was 200 dB at the property line it probably disintegrated the fence. NASA had a giant jet engine powered horn that they used during the Apollo program, I think, to test concrete structures.
