Mom of seven Emma Lewis, 39, is urging other parents to take better care of their physical health — asserting that those who say they’re too busy to exercise are “just making excuses.”
“I used to think I had too much on my plate for working out but it was actually because I wasn’t prioritizing myself as well as my kids,” Lewis, from Northern Ireland, told South West News Service.
“It’s a hard pill to swallow, but it’s total rubbish if you think you don’t have time to do a quick 10-minute workout,” the said. “If you can sit on your phone for 30 minutes, you can exercise.” The motivated mama, who likes to do squats while lovingly preparing meals for her large family, began to change her lifestyle in 2021, after she noticed herself feeling extremely exhausted from long days full of chores, such as cleaning and packing lunch boxes.

Looks like her husband can outrun her...

all the children in the picture are signing something with their hands... s...t...o...p... h.. e .. r.
STOPHER?
I’m sure she already has.
” it’s total rubbish if you think you don’t have time to do a quick 10-minute workout”
A quick 10-minute workout ain’t hardly going to do anything for anybody, except maybe the morbidly obese.
I usually do an hour of cardio a day (plus weights at home or at gym), but when I can't, I do a hardcore Crossfit-type set of intervals and it does a lot of good.
Caution: People need to gradually adapt to hardcore interval work. Still.
I’m retired but I am up at 5am to make coffee and head 30 minutes to the Gym for PT for my back, weights and cardio. My BP at the Drs yestersay was 120/60.
Looks too old to be 39. Great shape though, that’s awesome.
Keep it up. You’re doing the right thing.
I'll be 75 in a week and my lifetime of working out is paying yuge dividends.
And, as I tell friends and family, it's never too late to start. Even people who are in awful shape will start to feel better in just a matter of weeks. Every little bit helps if you just increase a wee bit every day.
I always prepared meals for my large family unlovingly. Doing everything lovingly just seemed affected. It's just a casserole.
LOL
She’s right as there is not an excuse to not keep yourself fit.
If you make it a habit, people notice you age less over the years. It works wonders on your energy levels, career, life motivation, and just helps you with that sense of accomplishment.
Flame away haters.
Be careful with the weights..its addicting. Im 66 and will be competing in a powerlifting contest on Oct 14th (bench press only for me) . I weigh 218 (100kg class) and will be in the Masters 65-69 year old category. I didn’t plan it, it just evolved into this.
so 7 kids isn’t enough then... OK!!!
By that, you means families shouldn’t have more than one child?
How do you prepare it unlovingly? Putting mercury in it?
Why is it enough?
Skipping your ESL classes again, nickie?
