You mean that musicians should not write or sing music that relates to the current social culture in case in comes back to bite them in the nether-regions fifty years later?

Well, someone needs to tell the current “lyric” writers. Because even now, I find the rap stuff totally offensive to women everywhere! Plus there is no actual “music” involved in their productions. Everything is canned music, involving no actual talent, and everything is created by technology. Give me the music of the 60s and 70s any day over what we have now in “pop culture”. There is nothing like listening to an acoustical guitar, with little amplification, and some of the music created by artists of that era.

And, go back even further and listen to the smooth sounds of soul and jazz of the 40s, 50s and 60s. Some of those lyrics were quite racy! Again no technological assistance needed but music you can listen to all night.

Here is some great “whiskey jazz and blues”. Listen to some of the lyrics.

Ridiculous.

Any whiney nutjob can go through all songs and find issues with them.

That’s their problem.

But it’s not the Stones without Charlie. I heard that Bill Wyman is actually rejoining them at least in the studio for their new album, he’s like in his late 80s by now.

A lot of rap and Hip Hop go where no rock songs have gone lyrically. Unless you count The Fugs or Steel Panther.

Steven Wright is great! Great era for comedians 1980s. Emo Phillips. Sam Kinison and Andrew Dice Clay were great at what they did but they were too over the top for me. The funny thing about those two is that everybody knows someone of that type.

I'm not particularly a Rolling Stones fan, but Aimee Ferrier can take her triggered snowflake sensibilities and shove them.

Sideways.

My favorite Steven Wright joke.

“I went to a restaurant that serves breakfast at any time. So I ordered French Toast during The Renaissance.”

It’s about the evil of politics. Not a tribute to Satan. Bur progressives have to progress. Ban this. Ban that.

Articles like this say a great deal more bout the critic than they do about the subject matter.
