Vaccines against cancer and heart disease could be ready by the end of the decade, according to Moderna's chief executive.
Dr Paul Burton, said the advancements made in the field of mRNA — the technology used to make his company's flagship Covid shot — has ushered in a golden era of vaccines.
He predicts that by 2030 there will be vaccines for 'all sorts' of incurable conditions, saving 'hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives.'
Early studies have already shown 'tremendous promise', he added. But they are not likely to be your typical vaccine — they will need to be highly personalized and expensive.
Heart disease and cancer are the biggest killers in the US, behind 1.3million fatalities annually — or more than one in three of all deaths recorded.
Dr Paul Burton, the chief executive of the vaccine maker, told The Guardian: 'We will have that vaccine and it will be highly effective, and it will save hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives.
'I think we will be able to offer personalized cancer vaccines against multiple different tumor types to people around the world.'
He added: 'I think what we have learned in recent months is that if you ever thought that mRNA was just for infectious diseases, or just for Covid, the evidence now is that that's absolutely not the case.
'It can be applied to all sorts of disease areas; We are in cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune diseases, rare disease.
'We have studies in all of those areas and they have all shown tremendous promise.'

No, the vaccines won’t cure or stop cancer or heart disease, but they will at least stop the transmission to other people.
Exactly my reaction to that headline. I will never trust these "medical" companies again.
With cancer and heart disease being as scary as they are, people will take those vaccines, even if it kills them.
Perhaps they can come up with a vaccine for something that is just as dangerous, perhaps more so, and it’s a mental disease known as...

Another false statement from Moderna, from which the only successful product they have ever made was the bio-weapon they unleashed on the world.

Heart disease and cancer are not generally transmitted to others, right? Yet.
Symptoms were mild and disappeared in day and half after I tested positive for covid with symptoms. May be it was the jabs or just pure luck.
I dropped home insurance this year. I think my luck will protect me.

Yes and no. Yes, the original idea behind the mRNA platform was for things like targeted treatments for cancer and the like. But Moderna could never make it work, so it settled for the "vaccine" route when the federal government came calling with its "Operation Warp Speed" nonsense.
The ugly little truth is, the mRNA platform is a failed idea. It doesn't work. It just doesn't. It's one of those ideas that look good on paper (or on a computer screen) but which doesn't work in real life. It's just garbage, and dangerous garbage at that. But it's all that Moderna has to sell, and it's going to be looking for every rube and fool out there to provide it a market for its sh*t products.
