A plus-size mom claims she was harassed last month by a man on a dating app with self-proclaimed “above average” looks and “high values.”
“It was so ridiculous that it was comical,” Krista Brown told Kennedy News.
Brown, 36, said she downloaded the Christian dating app Plenty of Fish in November after being single for three years. She was unprepared for the cringeworthy communications she said she received from a match who turned out to be a mismatch.

A female Jussie Smollette. No man is going to spend any time even sending her a message.
Fat people used to know they were fat. They used to know why they didn’t get the Homecoming King or Queen.
These women need some help with photos and profiles. I know a lot of 40 something women who are looking for their next guy. They all use profile pictures that are not flattering. I was a professional photographer for years. I would offer to help them…but they would rather be just another fish in a school of same looking fish.
She has a pretty face.
Men don’t want fat chicks. Especially high value men. Why settle for a fatty when you can get a thin fit woman?
I would kick this gal out for poor grammar.
My wife has excellent grammar. And it is hard enough to understand her! (What she is meaning to say, what she really wants, etc.)
I feel sorry if guilty laughing at these comments. I should stand up for another woman, right? Nah, I’m just going to enjoy being a pigdog for today ; )
I’m more interested in a woman who can build a set of headers for a V8.
Except I can’t do anything because I’m married, but I would find it interesting.
What a whiny baby. The top 10 % are chosen by the entire 100% and the top 10% also don’t choose the not top 90%. Basically only the tens srd picking other tens while being picked by everyone and not picking nines or under. That’s why dating apps won’t work except if you are looking to be a victim. The victim part has multiple connotations.
Why is this private conversation a newspaper article? If I wanted to be on tiktok I would go there
It is a big deal in the lesbian community
“downloaded the Christian dating app Plenty of Fish”
A Christian hookup app?
Not to be insensitive but fat is a problem. Especially if you are a woman. Maybe try to drop a few pounds.
“A lot of models have a gap between their teeth, and it’s considered attractive: “
It was.... in the days of Shakespeare. Today not so much.
POF is not a hook up site
Interesting chart on hypergamy.
When sex led to procreation and people had to marry to have sex (or marry soon after!), people had a fairly good expectation that they would marry someone who matched them, more or less, in the looks, money, education matrix.
Since the traditional way of marriage has been completely destroyed by the advent of birth control and no-fault divorce, everything is a topsy-turvey mess. Women get a lot of attention when they are young, no one settles down because they want to have fun and pay off college loans, and then the women hit their 30s and become expendable while men hit their 30s and become more attractive because they have paid off their loans and are earning more money, so they go after younger women, who don’t necessarily want to marry at that point, but at least are more fun to have on one’s arm.
Everyone wonders what has happened to our society? Birth control and no-fault divorce.
It’s not a Christian dating app, I’m on it and it’s all religions, including agnostics and atheists
Looks like a typical 36 y/o woman of our time. IOW obese.
He could have been nicer and just said sorry not interested.
Too many fat people these days, I say that admittedly having been one. Exercising self-control and learning why it is everyone is getting fat allowed me to get and stay at a healthy weight. I am trimmer, healthier and stronger now than I was 20 years ago but the overwhelming majority of people I meet every day are somewhere between overweight and morbidly obese, including sadly those in their 20s and 30s.
Oh, okay. I thought in the article she said it was a Christian site.
If she’s being honest, she didn’t message him, so he was getting a smug jolly with what he did.
Again, I have no problem with what he wrote *if it was a reply* but not for initiating the conversation.
Actually, historically, very fat men were considered a catch because they were prosperous enough to eat well. Besides, fat guys today, at least in the South, often consider themselves “big ol boys”, with no thought of loss of attraction by females. To be fair, a lot of men down here don’t seem to mind quite a bit of padding on women, either. I don’t see anything wrong with this woman in the article. She’s more in the fluffy range rather than fat. And while I would never use an online dating service, my daughter met her husband on one, and he’s a keeper.
