House Speaker Nancy Pelosi marked Transgender Remembrance Day by tearing into MAGA Republicans and implicating them in the Colorado LBGTQ night club shooting that left five dead overnight.
Five people died when a 22-year-old opened fire at Club Q in Colorado Springs Saturday night, and 18 others were injured.
'As our nation marks Transgender Day of Remembrance, the House Democratic Caucus mourns the countless Americans stolen away by the scourge of transphobic violence, a crisis that continues to disproportionately harm trans people of color,' Pelosi said in a statement.
Pelosi, who is stepping down from Democratic leadership in January, went on: 'That fight remains more urgent than ever, as right-wing extremists target transgender Americans' most fundamental rights and freedoms.
Whether spouting dangerous rhetoric from cable news desks or openly bullying schoolchildren from the halls of power, MAGA Republicans are cruelly undermining the safety and well-being of our transgender community
'Horrified by such shameless bigotry, House Democrats are proud to march alongside our trans friends.'
No motive has yet been determined for the attack.
Authorities say Anderson Lee Aldrich entered the gay club just before midnight and fired an unknown number of bullets from his AR-15-style long rifle before he was stopped by at least two 'heroic' patrons

Many gay people are upset with trans people, they think that if a boy is attracted to other boys he should be gay, and not try to change into a girl.
Likewise, many feminists are made at girls wanting to be boys.
While I like the confusion and discord among liberals over this stuff and hope that they will turn against each other philosophically and politically - I don’t condone this violence.
I read somewhere that the guy that did the shooting was arrested for threatening his mother a few years ago.

I think most Republicans are not enamored of gays or trans, but I also do not think they are desirous of any violence toward them. It’s why you see so many parents at school board meetings protesting and speaking out against some of the insanity that lifestyle imposes on our young (largely to no avail it seems). To the extent that rabid leftists like Pelosi always go to examples of violence against gays (or trans) and pin it on (or try to) Republicans overall is reprehensible.
