We’re still waiting for the final results of the 2022 election. But it’s clear that Democrats decisively beat both expectations and the elections’s “fundamentals”—the incumbent party’s usual midterm losses, President Biden’s low approval rating, high inflation, voter negativity on the economy and the state of the country. Republicans look set to take back the House but only by a modest margin. And the Senate will remain in Democratic hands, albeit narrowly.
The Democrats’ relatively good night is attributable, above all, to their secret weapon: Donald Trump. Mr. Trump’s ability to push Republican voters into picking bad, frequently incompetent candidates with extreme positions on issues from the 2020 election to abortion was a disaster for Republicans.
They know it. Scott Jennings, a former deputy to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, tweeted: “How could you look at these results tonight and conclude Trump has any chance of winning a national election in 2024?” Chris Christie, the Republican former New Jersey governor, noted: “We lost in ’18. We lost in ’20. We lost in ’21 in Georgia. And now in ’22 we’re going to net lose governorships. . . . There’s only one person to blame for that, and that’s Donald Trump.” Mike Lawler, a newly elected Republican congressman from New York, suggested the party needed to “move forward” from Mr. Trump.

Before this election there never needed to be election monitors from the Federal Department of Justice to prevent violent unrest at specific polling locations. It just happened that they were observing places that coincidentally experienced problems counting ballots. And also coincidentally the Democrats did really well at the places where the observers i guess were successful in preventing violence on the part of Republicans.
I don’t think I need this post-mortem or any Monday Morning Quarterbacking. Done with this. We got cheated period. No way out of this. Elections are a game now.
They don’t have to worry about Trump. They’ve got half of the GOOBers voting for them.

I’m not sure that you could look at what happened on Tuesday and reasonably think that *any* Republican has a shot of winning ‘24.
Fetterman et al. proved that in states like PA & MI the Dems’ control of a massive mail-in ballot machine is a nearly unstoppable force. Look at a kook like Mandela Barnes almost winning in Wisconsin. The Dems learned their lesson in 2016 very well and are never going to let that happen to them again. Plus, the Dems have a stranglehold on the 18-29 woke idiots, as well as the single-women “slut” vote. I like DeSantis, Abbott, JD Vance et al. as well as anyone else, but don’t tell me that they’d easily win PA or MI or WI or AZ or NV. Fetterman and others proved what a disadvantage we’re at in those states.
But, but, if we run a “nice” candidate maybe the Commies will like us ? 🥹😍😙

I think Newt has written somewhere that Republicans got six million more votes than Democrats. Can anyone verify that? Like the 2020 hockey stick overnight count, it doesn’t make sense if true.

On the other hand the fraud that is being shoved down our throats is unimaginable. We have one hope to turn this country around and it isn’t Ron Desantis.
