A thought to add to this - its highly doubtful that everything was just lovely and wonderful between this guy and his wife before he found it. There were likely many red flags and suspicious over a long time before he dropped the kid off at the school on that last day. He probably likely knows who the kid's real father is. No wonder he is pissed off.

I don’t see it the way you do. Don’t you claim that this man has a responsibility for this child. He doesn’t. Its not his child. The one who has that responsibility is the father. He is not the father.
He’s just the poor guy who got cheated on and used in the worst way by the ho of a wife. If he wants to raise the kid as his that’s one thing. If he doesn’t feel as though he can bear to be around the visible reminder his wife cheated on him and used him in this way, I understand.
The ones to be mad at here are the cheating wife and the man she had a child with and who has not taken responsibility for that child.
It’s an innocent child that thought the man was his father- can you imagine what that little boy is going through? How could you love someone and then do this because of genetics?

I’ve said he should have arranged to leave the child with his mother. But I completely understand if he cannot bear to stick around. He’s not the one who created this godawful mess. That would be the cheating wife and the man she cheated with and made the baby with. Those are the people who need to take responsibility here.
So the guy is at fault if he doesn't agree to be a complete spineless cuck? How about if he - after this horrendous betrayal - feels as though he cannot be a good father to a child that is the product of his wife's betrayal?
Monstrous is cheating on your spouse. Even more monstrous is using your spouse for years by making them think this child is theirs when it is not. Its not "just genetics" as you would have it. There's a lot more to this story than that. This isn't remotely the same as adopting a child. That is not a betrayal. That you undertake voluntarily. That's totally different from this.

My money is on the ‘father’ finding out the boy was a half-breed (mixed race). Proof: The family wants nothing to do with the boy. I bet the mother hooked up with a foreigner.
Chinese are racist, evil in this respect. Most of those 193k orphans in 2020 were of mixed race.
My niece was lucky enough to have been adopted and brought here by my well-meaning sis. She’s clueless as to how good she’s got it here, and most reading this haven’t a clue as to the nature of the abuse my niece was subjected to in her orphanage.
Everyone seems to assume the woman cheated. Had it occured to any of you that she may have been raped, possibly by a boss or another relative? It is a very harsh culture over there; but rape and sexual harassment happen everywhere.
Under American law, if the couple is married, then the child is legally the responsibility of the husband, blood or not.
Surely there is a third way; such as the father taking the child home and finding a legal adoption agency or some kind of social service agency for the child, rather than tossing him like trash. It's not the child's fault.
Good point. We need to know full details. Thr little boy is the innocent victim. Mom may be a slut. We do not know important facts.

if that happened then for goodness’ sake tell the husband. Do not use him like this raising a child that is not his. That’s the ultimate betrayal.
