Vice President Kamala Harris quickly learned not to come between President Biden and his negotiations with Congress, when the president once snapped at her so harshly even Republican senators in the meeting were shocked.
In a meeting last May, Biden tried to persuade Republican lawmakers to support $1 trillion in infrastructure spending.
And while Biden was ready for a compromise, Harris thought the bill was skimpy.
'Harris thought that there was something missing from the conversation,' New York Times reporters Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns wrote in their book, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.
She began turning the conversation toward Democratic priorities, including family and social spending, which were originally included in the larger Build Back Better bill.
She 'began to make the case for a larger package than the one Republicans seemed to have in mind.'
'Biden dismissed her comment immediately,' the authors wrote, in so harsh a tone 'that even the Republican senators were taken aback.'
Biden was typically 'scrupulously respectful' of his second-in-command, but the moment revealed that infrastructure negotiations were his and his alone.
The latest revelations in This Will Not Pass include claims Jill Biden was opposed to her husband selecting Harris as his running mate after she attacked him during the Democratic primary debate in June 2019.
It also follows reports last year of tension between Biden and Harris and allegations of bullying and a 'toxic culture' from staff in her office.
Biden also, according to the book, expressed reservations himself about selecting Harris for his ticket.

Even a man with dementia can tell a blithering idiot when he sees one....
With Harris the Peter Principle takes on several different yet very relevant dimensions.
Biden has an anger problem. The media ignored it.
Willie knows.
Alright Joe!

We will NEVER Make America Great Again by re-electing Assistant Democrats.
Trump has to stop endorsing them.
Biden being Biden.
Are they sure it wasn’t between him and his ice cream?
Ha, when dementia sets in a lot of these old guys can get rather nasty, although in this case he had good reason. As bad as Biden is I still dread the thought of Kameltoe taking his place. She’s just so unbelievably stupid it would be a catastrophe of immense proportions. Here we are on the cusp of WW3 and we have these two morons at the helm, it’ like a nightmare out of the Twilight Zone. Can’t believe this country has sunk to such a level, it makes me so angry.
I resent being informed of this incidence so long after the fact. In fact,I am in doubt as to the veracity of the event. Anyone who was present would have, no doubt, reported it as soon as it happened. While I am sure our VP has had many unpleasant incidences with Biden, this one is sounding a little contrived. Besides, since when has this feeble minded old poop ever controlled anything since taking office?
Good idea.
Short temper and angry outbursts are dementia symptoms.
Although Biden has been a nasty jackass his whole life.
“...Harris thought ...”
Nope, talk about misinformation. The HO has never had a thought. And never will.
They deserve each other but there is nothing about them that America deserves.
I HATE all of them, but I am sympathetic to Biden’s putting her in her place.
There’s nothing an exec hates worse than getting blindsided by his own people in a negotiation with the other side. They should have gone into the meeting with a unified administration front with the key decisions settled. This meeting was NOT the time or place to bring up such fundamental issues as how big the BBB bill should be or its scope. Your enemy recognizes such weakness and uses it against you. This is basic negotiation and executive leadership.
Of course, Harris is completely devoid of both of those skill sets.
Who cares about him barking at Kamala. Why the helll are the backstabbing a hole repukes negotiating anything with this disgusting chomo in chief?
Trump lost me when he endorsed Dr. Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate campaign.
Trumps multiple bad endorsements and staff picks illustrate real incompetence on Trump's part that I can no longer forgive as a constitutionalist.
Trump's endorsements are to feed his ego with victories rather than support his agenda with America First candidates.
I refuse to support Trump unless he can win the nomination.
I don’t care who chews her ass as long as someone does it.
The worst kind of stupid people are stupid people that do not know that they are stupid. They are a danger to themselves and everyone else.
