If you are ham radio operator, maybe it’s just really fast CW, maybe if we recorded it and slowed the sound down maybe someone could make sense of it.CQ, CQ, CQ. De V-GER.

4000 light years.
To put it in perspective:
Alpha Centauri is 4.4 light years away.
Betelgeuse is 500.
Super bright Rigel is the furthest thing I can think of that we can easily see; it is 1600 light years away.
But I am glad this thing is pretty far away.

Magnetars are about the most dangerous objects we know of next to Whoopi and her friends.

I think that’s it, they are calling CQ at intervals, except it’s super fast and no one can interpret it, I say capture the transmission, slow it down and it my theory works....
Or as I said earlier, it’s probably nothing but random noise.

Except for Gamma Ray bursts. Those will ruin your day. Or a supernova less than 30 light years away. Not good either.

That burst of energy occurred about the time the Egyptians were building pyramids.

"That’s only 23,462,784,000,000,000 miles away!" No wonder my attempts to plot the best route on Waze was so difficult...
I had assumed, initially, that it was due to my "no tolls or ferries" setting...

Can’t this energy be captured and stored so as to satisfy the anti fossil fuel crowd?

Within 4000 years I would bet. No worries. It takes a long time to get across our cosmic backyard. Even at the speed of light.
