From the Diocese of Marquette: "A person who publicly identifies as a different gender than his or her biological sex or has attempted 'gender transitioning' may not be Baptized, Confirmed, or received into full communion in the Church, unless the person has repented...,” ’ James Martin shared in a post.
Martin followed up by arguing that transgender worshippers are not sinful because of their identity and should be embraced by the church.
‘It is not a sin to be transgender. Transgender people are beloved children of God struggling to understand their identity. They need to be accepted with "respect, compassion and sensitivity." As Cardinal Gregory told a trans person, "You belong to the heart of this church," ’ he added in a follow up tweet, referencing Cardinal Wilton Daniel Gregory, is an American prelate of the Catholic Church and the archbishop of Washington.
‘The Church teaches that persons experiencing feelings of same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria is not sinful, but freely acting upon them is,’ the diocese’s instructions read. “Experiencing feelings and desires that are not in accord with the true meaning and purpose of sexuality is not sinful. To commit a sin, we must know that something is wrong and freely choose to do it.”

Let’s go Francis!
faggots dont show up to church unless there’s a fashion show.
unless the person has repented..
What a horribly mixed message.
LGBTQ = Lets Get Biden To Quit
Wonder what this does to practicing gay priests.. we all; know there are some
Thank God Jesus is returning. And he’s pissed.
Love the sinner, hate the sin.
This priest ‘gets it’. Too bad that Jorge Mario Bergoglio (aka pope Francis) doesn’t get it.
Whats the over/under on when “fr” Martin is busted abusing boys or seminarians? That guy is sick and evil.
I don’t agree with much about Catholics but these guys are dead right.
What about us LGBFJB people?
F off, newb.
“What a horribly mixed message.”
Why do you say that?
L
I don’t think so. Standard hate the sin, live the sinner stuff. Mixed messages are publicly saying homosexuality is a sin and then holding Rainbow worship. Or acknowledging abortion is a mortal sin and them yukking it up with the “Catholic” pols who found the butchers.
Live the sinner = love the sinner
Found the butchers = fund the butchers
“Martin followed up by arguing that transgender worshippers are not sinful because of their identity and should be embraced by the church.”
Anyone even remotely familiar with social justice activism would have no problem understanding that this statement will be interpreted as AFFIRMATION of homosexual sins. The Church’s follow-through is completely unlikely to address these as sins as crossdressers and sodomite continue to proudly embrace and express their sin unrepentantly within the Church. The RCC is famous for this sinful accommodation.
And it’s hard to see how “transgenders” can be depicted as “the heart of the Church” when they are denied the primary sacraments which DEFINE the heart of the Church. It is just wishy-washy word salad.
“The Church’s follow-through is completely unlikely to address these as sins as crossdressers and sodomite continue to proudly embrace and express their sin unrepentantly within the Church.”
This Priest, at least from my reading of it, seems to be following through. He’s explicitly denying them Communion if they act upon their proclivities. Am I incorrect in that? If I am please show me my error and I’ll acknowledge it.
Thanks.
L
Your error is not understanding that these transgenders are depicted as “the heart of the Church” (Martin’s words), AS THEY ARE. there is no more powerful affirmation in their sins than that.
I’m not saying that they should be given the Sacraments (they definitely should not), but the follow up statements are just weasel words, which is my point. They are denied the sacraments which make them the church, just the same as if they were pagans outside of the Church.
