Impressive piece of stunt work. Especially for an actor who is almost 60 years old. Props to actors who want to do these ambitious stunts where they could have easily used a stunt double.
...hanging "upside down"....that makes more sense. Has anyone ever sat on an airplane wing while it was flying? Wing Walkers had to have a "support pole" to keep them from falling off.
Did he ever get his GED?
He substitutes high risk stunts for serious acting.
Amen.
Trivia (from IMDB)
Ben Stiller said nearly all aspects of the Les Grossman character were developed by Tom Cruise, including the dancing and the look of the make-up. Stiller said that in addition to the more obvious make-up effects applied to Cruise’s face and head, and the extra hair on his chest and arms, Cruise also decided to play the character wearing oversized prosthetic hands.
You mean his harness held? Dang.
Thanks
Which ruined it for my favorite book series turned movies - Jack Reacher. Reacher is supposed to be in the 6' 3" 230 lb. range.
Puny Tom spoiled the action scenes that had to have equally short co-actors.
Reacher is written as a ladies man while Cruise doesn't even kiss one of his leading ladies.
The "Tom Cruise gay" rumor was less substantiated than the rumors about John Travolta, but apparently, Tom had all kinds of scientology rules about what to do with his "instrument" and when and how and that did a lot to encourage the stories.
