This is the United States first ever gender 'X' passport - given to an intersex Navy veteran who has been campaigning for the option since 2015.
Dana Zzyym, who uses they/them pronouns, received their document on Wednesday, with their law firm Lambda exclusively sharing a snap of the groundbreaking photo page with DailyMail.com
Zzyym, from Colorado, was identified as the recipient by her law firm Lambda Legal on Wednesday, shortly after the State Department announced the document had been issued.
Zzyym, who uses 'they/them' pronouns, first asked for the change while filling out their passport form in 2015, when the 63 year-old declared they were intersex and wrote 'X' on the form, instead of checking the M box for male or F box for female.
The momentous modification will become an option for all Americans applying for passports from early 2022.
It comes after the department announced in June that it was changing its gender requirements for the forms to be more inclusive of the LGBT community, after facing backlash from some of its members.

Adults at risk for mental health disorders drawn to city living, study finds

People genetically predisposed to mental health disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and anorexia nervosa prefer to live in urban areas as adults, a study published Wednesday by JAMA Psychiatry found.
Those with higher genetic risk for these disorders were 5% to 10% more likely to “preferentially move” from rural to urban areas as adults, the data showed.
This means that people with more genetic mutations who increase their risk for mental health problems are drawn to urban environments, which is significant, given that city-living long has been associated with increased risk for schizophrenia, the researchers said.
“This study adds to the evidence against the simplistic nature versus nurture dichotomy, showing that genes and environment are intercorrelated,” study co-author Dr. Evangelos Vassos told UPI.
“It shows that genetic predisposition to a variety of mental health conditions ... is associated with where people live,” said Vassos, a consultant psychiatrist at King’s College London.
Research published in 2017 found that adolescents raised in urban neighborhoods were nearly 70% more likely to have psychotic experiences, such as those associated with schizophrenia, compared with those who grew up in more rural areas.

“for those who identify as intersex”
“Intersex” is a very rare anomaly, where the child’s sex is indeterminate at birth, where it has atypical sex chromosomes, or the like.
It’s not something that a person “identifies” with; it’s something they’re born with.
I understand that intersex is a real condition, but the fact that anyone will be able to apply for X in 2022 tends to make me think there was another agenda, but that is just my opinion
Don’t these idiots realize that history repeats itself. Nothing new under the sun. And they are adding more displeasure to the Lord God Almighty. . As in the days of Noah, and Sodom and Gomorrah.
I expect there’s another agenda, particularly since I suspect that intersex people usually end up “identifying” definitively as male or female at some point, and few “identify” as “neither”. But I’m wondering if the article is nevertheless misreading the new passport rule.
Getting thrown in jail might even be a stroke of luck - some places, the immigration officials might be inclined to pin that new "woke" passport to the traveler's chest, draw their service weapons, and use the little bitty "X" as a target...
twice if i like it.
Guy’s law firm is named Lambda...isnt that the pedophile group?
I am bit curious what chromosomes does this person have, you are either genetically male of female the last I checked, or if you have the genetic characteristics of both sexes I can understand the need for the X symbol, but from what I read I do not think that is the case here.
Especially any Moslem country. Never hear of IT again.
