A one hour flight from Las Vegas, Nevada to Stockton, California turned into a 17-hour trip
Allegiant Airlines flight 161 was scheduled to land in Stockton on Monday at 9:30 pm but was not cleared for landing due to an unmanned control tower
The plane was flown back to Las Vegas where it was turned away due to thunderstorms
Roughly 175 passengers were eventually deplaned at LAX and made to wait in a holding room without a bathroom
The flight to Stockton was then rescheduled for the next day as upset passengers were given $250 ticket vouchers and left to sort out their situation on their own.
'There was a guy that said, 'What do we do? Do we need to find hotel rooms, are we on our own?' And the gentleman said, 'Yes, as of right now, you're on your own.''

What a complete nightmare! You just don’t expect this level of poor planning and mismanagement to happen in year 2021.

My longest flight was 14 hours from LA to Clark Naval Base in the phillipines back during my Navy days.
The interior of the plane was cold all the way there.
They're still using chauvinistic woman hating terminology.
That assumes there’s anyone in the organization with enough brains, initiative and authority to do such a thing.
Why did tha unmanned tower prevent the landing? Portland maie is unmanned for about 16chours and traffic is managed from Boston.
Went from Diego Garcia to Clark in a transport - about 15 hrs. No other pax, no boxed lunch but the jump seats were comfy.

Stockton is where Little Joe and Hoss went to go buy a fat hog for Hop Sing. Of course they’re gone now so it’s now Lil Stinky and Homicide boy who enjoy going to Stockton to shop.
Allegiant Airlines does a lot of charter flights for casinos. I imagine this flight from hell was a charter for a casino in Vegas.

If there is no manned tower to give clearance, they don’t need clearance.
