If so, someone doesn't understand that coins are not magnetic, nor do they respond to magnetism. Steel pennies made in 1943/44 are the exception.
I don't know of any country that uses steel in their coinage.
So, what happens if they need an MRI?

True, coins not magnetic, - but - not sure if they were coins. Hence the question. Paper clips Are magnetic. Keys not magnetic - not new ones anyway. Years ago, parent had a huge key ring and some of them were steel, magnetic. The jump rings are magnetic.
Scissors (on the lady) are usually picked up by magnets.

Also, in re reading the original first paragraph, the effect and amount on the mice treated was so small apparently that that the only effect noted was that the treated mice spent a statistically significant increased amount of time in the magnetic areas, as opposed to the untreated mice.
