In an alarming case of domestic violence, a Gweru man died after he was scalded with boiling cooking oil by his angry wife following a heated row over infidelity allegations.
The horrible incident occured in Gweru’s Hertfordshire Suburb on Monday.
iHarare has learned that the deceased has been identified as Alois Zaranyika.
The Chronicle reports that Zaranyika’s wife, Grace Mazhata left home to attend a church meeting over the weekend and only returned on Monday.
When Grace returned, her husband was not at home and this appears to not have gone down well with her. Alois returned home later the same day at around 8 PM.
Grace is alleged to have confronted him over some infidelity allegations and the misunderstanding quickly spiralled out of control. A furious Grace who seems to have made her preparations earlier on, then scalded her husband with cooking oil which had been heated on the stove.
Following the savage attack, Alois fled from his home and tried to seek refuge at a neighbour’s house. However, Grace who was on the warpath armed herself with a log and followed him there.
She used the log to assault her injured husband, who found it hard to defend himself due to the horrible burns that he had suffered from the boiling cooking oil.
Grace was relentless in her attack and only stopped after she was physically restrained by the neighbours. The neighbours then rushed Zaranyika to Gweru Provincial Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, he died two days later.
After realising the gravity of her actions, Grace fled from her home and went into hiding in Harare. However, the police were able to track her down. She was apprehended on Thursday and is expected to appear in court soon.
The case was confirmed by Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko. Inspector Mahoko told the Chronicle,
Well, that’ll learn him!
“…and the misunderstanding…”
Wow, she killed him over a misunderstanding of the situation?
It sounds like he didn’t do anything, but she made him pay for it with his life
Grace didn’t show much grace after returning from her church meeting . . . .
Grace r badass!
Probably another case of “died after a COVID vaccination”!!! Report to the Zimbabwe VAERS! </Sarc>

“Hertfordshire suburb,” “Midlands Provincial police...” sounds like someone tried to give them a chance to be civilized, but, alas, no.
That says it all. Douse the poor sod in boiling oil then whack him to death with a log, then, when he's lying there all boiled and bleeding come to the conclusion that there are going to be consequences.
Well, at least she didn’t eat him.
Cooking oil....I just hope it was free of trans fat components
Sounds like she got a lot out of the religious services she attended.
Now we’re gonna have to register our cooking oil...but if he was cheatin’ on his wife....well...hell hath no fury...
That’s so nurturing.
Sounds like in Africa this happened.
Happened in Zimbabwa.
i just cant stand the idiot hypocrisy here at fr about these stories
man kills wife, gang him, shoot the bastard, etc etc
woman kills husband, make jokes at his expense, rate her guilt based on photo, blame the guy, make light of his death
frigging idiots
Obviously, she needs to go to church more often !
With premeditation of boiling oil, she is already prepared for the fires of Hell
She needs to ask for forgiveness,.. and collect a widow's pence,.. monthly !
Zimbabwe in case anyone else wondered.
Same with men molesting girls as opposed to women molesting boys.
I love my FReepers but I hate it when they cheer this on or give it a pass. Acting like the boy got lucky and where were all the teachers when they were fourteen?
