The 7-day-old child was found on a sidewalk in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas
Life doesnt prepare you for situations like this.
That was one official response to the discovery of a newborn baby on a sidewalk in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, Thursday morning. The infant had been wrapped in blankets and placed inside a pizza box.
The child was accompanied by a handwritten note which read, Take care of my grandson. My daughter died while giving birth and I dont have [a way] to support him and I hope he has a better life and God forgive me.
The 7-day-old baby was taken to hospital by Civil Protection agents for a medical evaluation.
The discovery has been making the rounds on social media after Civil Protection announced the child had been found and posted a photo of the note. Life shapes you but it does not prepare you for situations like this, the agency wrote on its Facebook page. Several people have expressed interest in adopting the infant.
Until then, Tlaltenango Mayor Miguel Ángel Varela Pinedo said he would be responsible for the babys expenses, and expressed regret that the child was abandoned for financial reasons.
May your holy mother rest in peace and God forgive your grandmother for this, as the letter says, he wrote on Facebook.
On Friday morning he announced that the infant has been christened Ángel Gabriel and was baptized last night in the name of the people of Tlaltenango. Varela asked the state governor to ensure that baby Ángel is adopted out to people from his region of the state.
I noticed you didn’t say US child you said American child. Mexico is in America. North America to be precise.
I think we have about a year or so until that kids is walking anywhere. Although he would fit between the fence.
glad I'm not the only one having a problem visualizing the event
A nit. I MEAN A US BORN, US CITIZEN CHILD. Is that so hard to accept?! I am sick of people shopping for kids to adopt overseas and ignoring kids here in the US. Help Americans first. So long as there is a kid or family in need here in the US, that should be our focus before being do-gooders elsewhere in the world. And especially we should not be using this as means to import more people from outside the US.
Mr Jim’s has no comment.
Thank you, bro. They seem so concerned about the children, boohoo, except when they are OUR children. Another 500 plus pounds of meth and fentanyl recently caught at the border. Because OUR children deserve it. /s Keeping it real.

The Godfather is NEVER considered a suspect.
It wouldn't be prudent...
No Mr. Jim’s in the Twin Cities. I’ll put him on the list though. So many potential fathers.....
Hungry Howie? Hmmmm. Would like to try their ‘non baby’ pizza. Out of my range though.
Pizza Guys?
No. Don’t have Pizza Guys in Minnesota either. They sound mighty suspect. I guess we’re talking Mexico though. I went off on a tangent. :)
A lot of people can’t afford to adopt stateside; it’s prohibitively expensive, and some agencies may not wish to adopt out to anyone outside of a single preferred religion.
I hate to say it this way, but foreign kids are less expensive to adopt. You have no clue what you’ll get or how long it’ll take, but it’s not as costly up front.
I’m just glad that this child was found by someone compassionate. I hope they grow up safely and healthy with a caring family.
Not trying to make light of this situation, but just wondering what the shape of pizza boxes are in Mexico? How do you fit a baby into a 1 inch flat box?
Side note, Judge Amy Comey Barretts family adopted two such children from Haiti.
I am 72 years old and a gringo. My wife is 68 years of age and a Mexican from Mexico, and we would take that child in an instant to raise. We would be old at the end, but my half Mexican son would complete the duty.
Have you ever tried to adopt an American child? Do you know how difficult it has become?
But I doubt your compassion has even extended that far.
It's been a constant devolution over the past 20 years that I have been here and that's where we are today.........
