Two Amish brothers in Missouri admitted having sex with their 12-year-old sister and getting her pregnant — but managed to avoid jail time because a prosecutor feared they’d “be eaten alive” in prison, according to a report.
The abuse came to light after a doctor alerted authorities that the girl was pregnant just after she turned 13 — and she said that four of her brothers, two of them also minors, had been having sex with her, according to the Webster County Citizen.
The eldest two — Aaron Schwartz, 22, and 18-year-old brother Petie — admitted to police that they had sex with her at least half a dozen times each at home in Seymour, starting when she was only 12, officials told the paper.“Both young men must write a letter to me, explaining how they are going to protect their children from this happening to them,” Berkstresser said. “They have 30 days to get this letter to me.”

I live right among the Amish. My veterinarian wife treats many of their horses.
Sexual child abuse is rampant among the Amish as is domestic violence and rape. It is covered up by the elders but the info still gets out.
They do what the Catholic church does sends the offenders to another community.

This case is exactly the case of the Duggar’s except no pregnancy that we are aware of. The parents were cool with the boys having sex with the sisters too. Sick!

Amish in general are extremely inbred. They’re well known for being a population with unusual rates of inherited rare dieases.
Sex with a 12 year old sister should not excuse people from jail time. It should be an additional reason for jail time!

Pretty sure every jail and prison has ‘protective custody’. Special cells away from the general population where they put people that are apt to get killed.
Right now they are seeking to revoke probation, as, not surprisingly, the conditions have already been violated. But they have to wait for an October hearing, meanwhile the girl remains exposed to her abusers I assume.
Thoughts:
A horrible set of incestuous crimes in one family.
How will the young girl manage the memory of this for the rest of her life? Will she recover?
The judge is right about what will happen to the young men if sent to prison.
Because the judge is right, as would be judges anywhere in this country, the whole country is in denial that solutions to THAT problem need to found and implemented.
Some first time minor criminals are not beyond reform when they enter prison, but then the mental, physical, and often sexual brutality they face in prison, finds them leaving prison with larger mental issues than they entered with. The road to recidivism begins.

How could they already violate the terms?
The Amish community will give them severe punishment...like what take away their car and cellphone? Sorry these guys need prison time and too bad what happens to them there. What is deterring them from just leaving the Amish community and going into the “English” community to continue their sex crimes?

I've seen that sort of thing before. When I was in the USAF, I was stationed on the Ilha Terceira in the Azores Islands for two years. It was settled by the Portuguese around the time of Columbus and often went years until visitors arrived. Even the visitors didn't stay. Dwarfism was rampant. We had become friends with one of their sons and his family invited my wife and I over for dinner. Jorge was average height for an Azorean. They showed us their house and they had built another level four feet high in half house for the children that were dwarfed.
