That’s certainly a very weak attempt at an excuse.
If I hadn’t re-posted you that I had sent you something about Victor Davis Hanson’s book, you would probably not have acknowledged it at all.
Your reply was “Yup, it’s on my reading list” is a poor excuse for an acknowledgement and shows no gratitude at all.
You need a lesson on common courtesy and politeness.
