There is no doubt that they do not support the border mission and told DHS to remove the request to build tents for the Detained, which DHS did.

Actual, real retired generals that are quoted by name objecting to the border mission probably is not made up by the media, even if you would like to think it is.
The reality is that neither mattis nor the generals support the border mission.
Seen any tents being erected to detain migrants?
Seen any 15K troops arriving at the border?
In that case you can provide us all with a reliable source for how the Pentagon is refusing to carry out Trumps requests then? I too read much of the same non-sourced smear type speculation, and that's all it is as no one wanted to put their name on the typically traitorous leaks. These very same deep state obstructionists are constantly trying to undermine President Trump and until any one of these cowards bother to attach their name to one of these unauthorized leaks then I won't give them or these unfounded recriminations the time of day.
