Anonymous Won’t Scare Off Diehard Trump Supporters (This is how the Left sees you)
The Los Angeles Progressive ^ | September 8, 2018 | Berry Craig

The anonymous New York Times op-ed piece trashing Trump sent Democratic hopes soaring.

The loyal opposition prayed the story would steel the spines of Republican bigwigs to speak truth to power and finally ‘fess up that the emperor has no duds.

Instead, White House insiders are falling all over themselves to deny authorship. Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP brass are still aboard the Trump clown car.

“The root of the problem is the president’s amorality,” warned the unnamed author, who claimed to “work for the president” and allying himself or herself with “like-minded colleagues…to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

Sorry, Democrats, hogs will fly before this GOP will ever dump Trump.

In a recent tweet, Rep. Eric Swalwall put the blame for Trump’s “crazytown” White House squarely where it belongs: “…at the feet of a GOP Congress’s absolute failure to check the President.” Because lawmakers “won’t check him…cowardly aides who won’t speak up publicly have gone rogue.”

The fact that they—including the tell-all-but-his-or-her-name Times guest columnist—are too timid to tell who they are should give Democrats pause. They’re hardly examples of profiles-in-courage.

Meanwhile, a slew of Never Trumpers has switched to independent. Most of his Republican House and Senate critics are opting against additional terms.

What’s left is a party of Ever Trumpers. I know. I live in western Kentucky, Trump country where white folks still dote on The Donald.

Trump isn’t dividing the GOP. His policies have forged a white quadruple alliance of plutocrats, George Babbitts, neo-Confederate yahoos and Christians of the Jesus-loves-me-but-He-can’t-stand-you-persuasion.

They’re not about to derail their gravy train with Trump at the throttle.

Oh, the big-city fat cats and the small-town bougies might wince at the president’s publicly boorish bigotry, but only because they think it’s bad for business and makes them look bad, to boot.

By themselves, more than a few yacht clubbers—and Republicans who live in Middle America’s real Zeniths—spew varying degrees of racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia and homophobia while making fun of the red-capped rubes who whoop and holler at Trump rallies.

Upper-class and upper-middle-class Republicans will stick with the president because he’s delivering the goods for them. He’s cutting their taxes (and his). He’s busting unions.

He’s slashing government regulations that cost business owners, big and small, money by compelling them to make their workplaces safer and the environment tidier and forcing them to protect consumers against shoddy and even dangerous products.

Old-fashioned, greed-is-good Social Darwinism is back. Okay, it never left with Nixon, Reagan and Bush I and II.

Simultaneously, latter-day Johnny Rebs are clinging like grim death to their Great White Hope. Trump’s a Yankee from New York City. But his heart’s in Dixie where he’s taking his stand for reprising white supremacy. Jeff Davis, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Bilbo, and Big Jim Eastland would love the guy David Duke loves.

It’s no coincidence that deepest Trumpistan is the old Confederacy—and some border state sections like my neck of the woods. Hereabouts, racial and religious prejudice jibe like white beans and cornbread. Trump is the rock upon which churches of the praise-Jesus-and-vote-Republican gospel is preached.

I hope I’m wrong. But I’d bet next month’s Social Security check that Trump’s quadripartite GOP will weather this latest storm. Unfazed will be the tycoons, the local chamber of commerce movers-and-shakers, the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the faithful who warm the pews in houses of worship where liberalism is equated with Old Scratch himself.

Trump is the GOP’s man for all seasons, the Koch sibs, Steve King, Roy Moore and Franklin Graham all-in-one. There’s no way the Republicans will forsake such a president who’s everything to everybody in their party, which looks more like the party of Jeff Davis than of Abe Lincoln.

Let me translate the article for you.

There is one and only one probable suspect for the author of the piece for which real evidence exists to back the charge, and that person is named Sarah Jeong.

She - a known radical and very extreme character - was hired to the editorial board just a month ago, and this op-ed was published in those very pages. She is a new hire and this is a new tactic. It makes perfect sense that the new tactic came about as a direct result of the new hire - more sense than any other explanation on the table, including the ludicrous face-value explanation they wanted people to believe.

Other slime creatures in the media ALREADY KNOW it is a hoax. That is why you are seeing them back off so soon - it blew up in their faces and this tar baby is going to stick like glue to anyone involved, for a long, long time.

I declare that Sarah Jeong is the source of the article, and I challenge her and anyone else to prove me wrong.

Anonymous, my ass. Since when is the Fake News Media reluctant to name a Trump critic?

If Mike Pence was the "anonymous" source, the Fake News Media would be shouting from the dung heap, "Vice President Pence Writes Piece Critical of President Trump".

Or it was one his cabinet secretaries or advisors or anyone else with close ties to President Trump.

This is a fraud, through and through.

I had a friend in grade school who liked to try to get guys to get in a fight by telling one that the other called him an asshole. Most of the time it didn't work but sometimes it did.

I actually agree with a lot of what this author says, although I would have chosen a less derogatory way of saying it. Basically, Trump enjoys widespread support among republicans. That’s definitely true. I love the way these guys are writing newspaper articles about other newspaper articles that are predicated on a totally unverified anonymous source. These guys remind me of a dog licking his own balls.

As you know I have a lot of business in places non southern like Michigan and where you are in El Ayy.....Actual Hollywood folks.....conservatives I might add and as you know one has had success and a bevy of Class A actress babes....was a TMZ FOCUS a few years back and still evades paparazzi cause he thinks he’s put on too much weight..lol

And none of the many Yankees I know and hold dear share these South demonization views

They love us ..our culture and music and appreciation for our past and of course our girls.....although I have met fine Michigan and California women too

Right now middle TN is innundated with Yankees..I’m guessing 30 percent now..and frankly the ones who live in the suburban rings where I live tend to feel the same way about us and would never denigrate our heritage or ancestors....sure we get a few leftists who join groups like Tennessse Strong or Williamson Strong

But most like being here and came to be near kindred spirits in a beautiful geographical environment

So I welcome those....the tards tend to go to Nashville proper like Green Hills and boho east Nashville to be with fellow leftist travelers like they would in Austin or a Chapel Hill

No these South haters here who refuse to acknowledge who they are have a purpose being here and most are here just for that....it’s about race is my guess....
Purposeful infiltration of a conservative forum to challenge the record as one pretty much confessed last week or so

I don’t really care what those people think of me any more. Not that I ever really did care much.
It’s totally irrelevant.

Free Republic is full of south haters and Free Traitor™ globalist thugs. Most of the time the two groups overlap.

I think the NYT writes their own “editorials” and finds people(dumb asses) to agree to using their name as the author. It is all ghost written propaganda.

wardaddy:

I suspect that you are right about the apparent saboteurs. But they have repeatedly lost the debate. They are a distraction from what we need to focus on, which is waking up everyone we can to the critical election coming up. (Frankly, their verbal arguments--basically bald unsubstantiated opinions -- suggest a Soros type operation, not reasoned opinion.

If you scan the Constitution as a whole, their theories will appear to be ridiculous.

What I am focusing on, these days:

The Last Chance? [Can Trump revive the aspirational Spirit of '76?]

Most are nevertrumpers and also were pro amnesty back during the anti amnesty site fests here early to mid 2000s

It’s funny considering Trump is a serious Yankee yet the Deep South is his electorate stronghold plus Oklahoma

Don’t tell anyone in Oklahoma east of the strip that they are not southern...

It’s like southern Missouri or Kentucky

It pisses em off
