The admission revealed the identity behind a big data breach. Nghia Hoang Pho, 67.
Nghia, Carted home, Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented, Information for over five years. These files were downloaded onto Phos personal computer and then routinely harvested by Russian intelligence. Pho took a mix of digital and physical info home between 2010 and 2015. he was using it to rewrite his resume -- this was intentional, but not spiteful.
Pho may face prison time when he's sentenced on April 6th, but prosecutors are open to calls for a lighter sentence given the non-malicious nature of the case. It does show that the agency is racing to crack down on the multiple leaks it has suffered over recent months and years. The effort might also serve as a warning shot to NSA staff that may be tempted to leave with data, even if it's for innocuous reasons.

Mmmum, uya, sure.
Raben
Get them all.
TS/SCI stuff? To "rewrite his resume"???
BULLSHIT!!!!
But...but... it wasn’t malicious.
Comey the Pretzel Maker can investigate it, conclude that no prosecutor would take the case, and let him walk. Comey might volunteer to destroy the man’s laptop for good measure.
Employees are specifically told not to do this. He must be a total moron.
Wasnt there a woman just busted for this? A contractor maybe?
“My client identifies as Hillary Clinton.”
... between 2010 and 2015.
The 0bama administration can shoulder 100% of the blame.
I’ve never read a resume with TS/SCI information on it. “Non-malicious” my aching butt. Lock him up.
Doesn’t sound like they have much security at NSA. I know people who have worked DOD projects where you practically had to strip naked to leave the facility, along with a full body X-Ray each time.
(not quite, but no cell phones, USB ports disabled on those computers, network wiring in plain sight to make it easy to spot taps, etc.)
Non-malicious? I knew people who were merely careless with (very highly) sensitive material and did serious time behind bars because of it. Once you put TS material on your computer, you are very far beyond the level of simple carelessness/recklessness that we used to punish. Lock him up!
If he stuffed the suff in his socks we can just chalk it up to a lapse in judgement.
We executed the Rosenbergs. Would we do that today?
check out “non-malicious” in justification for a light penalty...
bingo
He should be hung non-maliciously.
Roger that. Had I mentioned any TS INFO in letters to my family or friends my fanny would have been in Leavenworth. Like Comey and his notes, had I taken any notes on any of our TS cross border OPS or Eldest Son, my ass would be in Leavenworth. Had I mentioned our support for certain INDIG teams the same. Why are these idiots taking classified INFO out of their damn S2/INTEL office? Hell, I had to make certain all TSN docs were locked in the filing cabinet plus the building was locked. We need to go back to PAPER.
No kidding, I had years long holes in my resume because you couldn’t even mention the program names.
