When the Los Angeles Police Department was hiring in the early 1990’s, white males had to have a score of 110% on the written exam. In other words, white males had to have a perfect score on the written exam, and they had to be a veteran of the first Gulf War in 1991, which was worth another ten points.

Females of any race were not required to have a perfect written score, nor did they have to be veterans of the Gulf War. Same deal for males of any race, except Caucasian.

Also, the U.S. Navy was favoring “Hispanic” candidates for their officer programs in the mid 1980’s over whites. The Navy was including as “Hispanic” anyone whose ancestors came over from Spain or Portugal.
