A message for white people:
I know how jarring it may be to hear a non-white person, or maybe anyone, even say the words white people, as it can take on a pejorative connotation. Thats fine. This isnt always comfortable to have to say, but that doesnt make it any less true, necessary, or timely.
Before I get started, I want to be clear, this is for all white Americans. To my friend, to my foe. To my colleagues, my contemporaries, and my competitors. To the professional athlete and the pee-wee league coach. To my family members. From late night hosts to news anchors, faith leaders to police officers. School teachers, small business owners, and service workers. For allies and detractors, everyone.
I dont have to waste much of my word count on how Donald Trump has been trying to bring us together around dividing us into sides. Its not necessary to explain the ways in which his rhetoric - via speeches at rallies, non-stop tweets, and numerous pieces of policy - has sought to elevate the discourse to just beneath the floorboards.
There is more than enough coverage on all of that, but what this president has done to you, whether you voted for him or not, is put you into an awkward position that either requires your vocalizing your opposition to separate yourself or gleefully accepts your consent by only requiring you do nothing.
Yes, white people your trial subscription to Donald Trumps America is over and you have to opt-out or start paying for it.
Sorry, but not sorry, youre going to have to take a side. And yes, you have to do it now.....

Many, many people in my life assume I am a lib. I love my hairdresser and when she makes rueful jokes putting down the President I think of her lovely way with my hair and my kids’ hair and shut the heck up. Everyone at my kids’ schools too, I stay in my closet.
My friends know, and tolerate (even love!) me in spite of my politics. My extended family knows and they treat me with just the etiquette-allowed amount of disdain. Almost like I was a real person, you know what I mean.
Oh, I know exactly what you mean! LOL
My family loves me, but act like I've joined some creepy cult. Because I live halway across the country from them, they do try to stay off the subject of politics when I'm out there (which is rare).
That's kinda where I was going with that. The country is divided more along ideological lines than racial lines. Sort of like the Hindus and the Muslims were, back when India gained its independence from Britain.
Those people had to geographically separate to stop the killing. I truly hope this country doesn't get there, but we might.
Neat. My many times great grandfather got to Jamestown about 1630, and his family remained in the area for several generations. Our ancestors may well have been friends.
That's a start - then we have to start reversing the perverse incentives democrats put in place to keep blacks dependent and broken...
Even in your “closet” you aren’t alone, you have God and Freepers .
Take care!
If “white privilege” was real, there would be no black minority in this country. They’ve been handed every opportunity for 50 years, and most have opted to remain on the plantation as human livestock.
You know, it seems to me that what is labeled “privilege” is nothing of the sort. Viewed only through lenses of jealousy and hate, “success” only looks like “privilege”. The left have been so good at handing out their thick, dirty glasses that their followers can’t see straight.
Whether we are white or black, our parents and teachers (school teacher, life teacher, simply the ones from which we learn) have a great deal to do with our success. They instruct us on how to think, live, solve problems, relate to others, and just basically understand our surroundings. Without them, only the most determined learn how to think, behave, and live properly.
If the left has broken up your family, and made sure your education is crap, you cannot succeed - you lack “privilege”. Viola! - They have you now, because you have no background or foundation from which to view them properly as your enemy, and not your friend.
And we, white or black, succeed because we have learned how to properly behave in civilized society. (”I’m sorry, Officer, I didn’t realize I was going over the limit. Here’s my license.”) Just because the followers of the left don’t have that training doesn’t mean that those of us who do, are “privileged”. Don’t be mad at the successful. Be mad at those who made sure you couldn’t succeed. They did it on purpose so you would need them.
To you malcontent, “under-privileged” poor souls, here’s your first lesson: Shut up and stop ticking of those off us who have succeeded. Some of us would be more than happy to show you how to do it.
