Trump – DON’T FORGET HOW YOU GOT ELECTED

An article I read said that the republicans are opposing Trump. that they passed a veto proof sanction bill vs Russia, that they work for the people and not the president. They have ignored his tweets to stay in session, to lower the vote to 51 instead of 60 etc. The author said there was no moment in time when the split occurred and that the split occurred gradually. With this last statement, I totally disagree. Apparently, the author was no in class when the never Trumpers were making their presentation. Is he forgetting the contentious primary fight when Trump totally separated himself from other republicans and criticized all congressman as do nothing, stupid negotiators, etc.? Obviously, Trump should have expected exactly what he got from congress. The mistake he made from the beginning is thinking that liberals can forgive. They can’t! And they get even. The only support Trump got from the beginning were the conservatives and he managed to alienate them also by attacking them when they refused to sign on to a government controlled healthcare system by a new name.

Trump has and still has only one option. If he is smart enough to play his cards well, he should leave Washington to the Republican elites and progressives and the democrats. Get on the road supporting conservative primary candidates who want to make America great again. No more “nice guy”. No more telling the world how hard congress is working for their constituents. Trump has been playing defense for practically the entire first quarter. I thought he was going to be tough, but he has been “trumped” by the same people he called stupid.

"Stupid is as stupid does” to quote one of the best minds in literary history.

Congress will be the ones punished for this, not Trump. This writer has it completely backwards. Just like the Tea Party took Congress by surprise, the backlash against them will, too.

That’s like hiring the Clinton’s to be night security guards at a bank.

I’m not surprised that the Republicans are opposing Trump. Like I said in a thread last week, it’s time for Mike Pence to start speaking out against the deep state. Trump can’t do it alone.

“Just like the Tea Party took Congress by surprise, the backlash against them will, too.”

I remember certain Republicans bashing the Tea Party. The Tea Party is what got them the House, Senate and the Presidency. They are squandering the opportunity.

.........I respectfully disagree with you, mostly, but not all.

If I were Trump, I would be doing the same thing. Namely, I would be focused on building support overseas and at home BEFORE declaring war on BUDGET matters, prosecuting Hillary etc etc;

I think too that he is learning that he made some personnel mistakes.

When he gets his team to hitting on all 8, about next year, I think you will see more aggressiveness.
