So is there a verifiable working eCat anywhere?

Maybe you can let us normal folks know what this means? I looked at the patent and I see a heat thing but what’s so awesome about it?

Very controversial “cold fusion” reactor. Now protected by an issued US Patent.

Depends on what you will accept as “verifiable”. In the “science sense” (peer-reviewed science papers)...no. In the “legal sense” (cumulative weight of evidence).....yes.

This could make fossil fuel extinct except as feed stock for plastics.

Ah, thank you!
So what do you think? Is this for real, does it work, or is it really just a significant step towards something else?

Patents for Unworkable Devices
https://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/museum/patents.htm
Many persons think that you can’t get a patent on an unworkable device. That’s not true, as these examples show. This is only a small sampling of the inventive looniness of restless minds.

Is it possible to use the patent to make the E-cat?

...
That depends on the definition of “verifiable” and the definition of “working.”

Yes. To make a working model - to early to tell.

You would have to license it through the owner. If he is not interested in licensing it...nope.
There is a reason the electric company is named Consolidated Edison and Westinghouse. Those are the guys with the patents.
To: Moonman62
Wouldn’t “working” mean that the engine produces more energy than it consumes?
To: Vermont Lt
Is it possible to make an E-cat to prove it works, I don’t mean make one to sell it.
In other words, just because he has a patent doesn’t mean it works.

I guess if you could figure out what one of those chemical powders are, and you were able to engineer the parts...sure. I am not a mechanical engineer so I have no idea if it would work.

Might be able to help a bit... Lithium Aluminum Hydride is a very powerful and reactive reducing agent used in organic synthesis. So reactive, that it comes in a steel can, double wrapped in plastic, with a desiccant, all packed in nitrogen. It explodes on contact with water, is always handled in anhydrous environments, and is also pretty expensive stuff, not exactly an Esbit fuel tablet. Place it in proximity with a suitable reductant (iron oxide etc) in a tight container and it would have enough oomph to be considered a small bomb. That said, I think Rossi's a fraud. He was supposed to own the planet and rule it from his fortress of solitude at the north pole six or seven years ago according to his fanboys. As noted above, getting a patent really doesn't mean jack until you can prove it works without all the sleight of hand and stagecraft Rossi is known for.

So you are contending that this process is unworkable? Yes?
Other than by inference your post didn’t state your position for one way or the other.

So you are contending that this process is unworkable? Yes? I have rather strong doubts based upon a few years of reading about it.
I am pointing out that having a patent does not mean it works. Also I would point out that getting a patent on a non-working concept is a way to get more funding from hopeful but uninformed investors.
