You've heard of the security state, in reference to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security efforts to keep us safe and keep watch on threats from abroad; and the welfare state, the national apparatus designed to provide health care and sustenance to those in need. Well, some among us are proposing the pistol-packing state, which would arm virtually everyone with a weapon to be whipped out to shoot the bad guys whenever and wherever they're encountered.
At least that's what Wayne LaPierre, a spokesman for the National Rifle Association, and his ilk seem to be recommending as a way of dealing with mass murders like the nightmares of Newtown, Columbine, and the movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
"The only answer to a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun," said LaPierre. In other words, if you're on the street, in a shopping mall, supermarket, school or any other pubic space and someone pulls out a weapon and starts blazing away you can calmly draw your six-shooter - or, more appropriate in these times, your sixty-shooter and dispatch the menacing, gun-wielding madman.
Or, let's say you're on the street of some inner-city neighborhood when a gunfight breaks out between several parties and you are armed. You can, as they used to say in those Old West movies, "slap leather," draw your trusty firearm from its holster and with a few well-placed shots take the gunmen out - that is if you can determine exactly which of them of them are the bad guys. Of course with your dead aim there's no chance of innocent bystanders ending up as "collateral damage."(continued)

It will then become the most politest country in the world.
yeah i heard they were dragging people into gun stores and forcing them to buy guns they didn’t want.
just because you don’t want guns doesnt mean you get to disarm everyone else, jacshit libtard brit wanker.
My thought is never to let DHS lead from behind ... keep their sorry a$$es out front where you can see them.
Thanks but no thanks mister, but I'll take my chances slapping leather if you don't mind.
Morgan?? Must be a disease attached to that surname..
A list of who should not be armed (in a Kennesaw, GA situation) needs to take several things into account.
To start with, there are those that religiously or philosophically refuse to bear arms. And this passivity or pacifism should be respected on its face, but should not be honored beyond that, because they are demanding that others protect and defend them.
And there are many who though not mentally ill, have and know they have such a weak or neurotic disposition that they are just unable to handle guns. This also applies to some combat vets with PTSD.
And there are many who for whatever reason are so irresponsible they cannot be trusted, or cannot trust themselves, to have anything of value on their person, as they would lose their gun, misplace it, forget that they have it, and that sort of thing.
Black Fascist. Just say it and stop being afraid to say so.
Everybody but you, dude.
I have heard every single exchange between Piers Morgan and LaPierre. How could I do this? Simple, you can't do it because you have a life - I don't have a life, so I listen to news all day and into the night and read news at the same time.
LaPierre makes the point to Piers that the second amendment guarantees the government will not infringe on the God given freedom of people to arm themselves.
Then, this Earl Morgan flips that and says LaPierre wants everyone to be armed and go around shooting people. Just discount this pos for the pos he is.
I also heard every word today during the senate hearing about gun control. LaPierre says criminals won't undergo a background check - they will get their guns another way. So, the liberal senators on the committee get all upset because they say a background check will keep the bad guys from getting guns. Evidently, they think LaPierre is wrong - they want to believe background checks will stop these killings.
Then, our Texas Senator, Cornyn, brings up the facts he has in his hand that most states are not giving the feds the mental reports the states have and TEXAS GIVES MORE MENTAL INFO. ON PEOPLE WANTING TO BUY A GUN THAN ANY OTHER STATE. I'll bet that ticked off those liberal senators on that panel.
Some days as I watch and read the news, by evening, I have to drink medicine in the form of an adult beverage.
My advice after all this news watching and reading - buy more guns and ammo. And, if you know a liberal senator, show him/her a semiautomatic rifle and point to the magazine and define it for him/her - it's not something you read and it is not a clip. Really, if they don't know what a magazine is for a rifle/handgun, they have no business making laws about rifles/handgun/ammo. Have they ever touched a "gun" of any kind? I think they are so afraid of a rifle/handgun, they can't make a rational decision about them. They also want to stop people from buying ammo., but that's another subject.
There are right now, 18 House bills about rifles/handguns/ammo and 7 Senate bills. Have you read them?
Meant to ping you to post 29.
This guy has something against commonsense.
His hat’s too tight I guess.
...I lost mine in the Gulf this year...

And “arming every last one of us” is bad because? What part of “an armed society is a polite society” don’t you understand comrade Earl Morgan?
“I have heard every single exchange between Piers Morgan and LaPierre. How could I do this? Simple,.. I don’t have a life, so I listen to news all day and into the night and read news at the same time.”
You could be retired, just like me. I don’t watch football, because whoever wins doesn’t affect the price of gas or impinge on our Constitutional freedoms. So I guess I don’t have a life, either. Except we may both be keenly aware of the life or death struggle of liberty versus tyranny in our own country & our own lives. And that means watching the clashes as they occur.
That is having a life, as I see it. You probably don’t play the lottery, either.
