I hate to give Steven Spielberg any money, and I hate the fact that Spielberg spouts the lie that the Republican party of Lincoln's day is now the Democrat party.
I am sure that it is another Lefty propaganda piece.
But it looks like a well-made movie.
Should I stay or should I go?

I’ll wait until my public library gets the DVD.
I’d go see Skyfall before I’d see Lincoln.
Okay, I can’t help this, but the last sentence triggered this:
(The Clash, SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?)

No, wait until you can see it on TV.
Go if you wish. I understand Daniel Day Lewis is awesome. Even the voice he used for Lincoln was well researched. But be prepared for a liberal movie probably twisting historical facts.
My son, whose movie reviews are generally limited to expressions like, “it was okay.” or “ Meh,” actually raved about it. He is a solid, Christian conservative who doesn’t praise films lightly. He said it was not a Lincoln-worship pieceraising the issue of suspending habeus corpus, forcing votes, corrupting his political enemies to achieve a majority, etc. Apparently it paints him as a pragmatist over everything else, still slightly left in its conclusions, but a good flick overall.
I plan on seeing it.
Why give leftists any money for their view on history. Read books.
That’s where I got it.
Don’t do it...it’s just more lefty propaganda. My local newspaper reviewed it today (I have not seen it, nor will I), the local reviewer says it’s about Lincoln in the last days of the Civil War; the plot apparently revolves around whether Lincoln can keep the war going long enough so the South will be in the union when the 13th amendment is added, otherwise (I guess) slavery might continue.
Given that Lincoln believed that the South could not secede, the story must be entirely made up. If that’s the plot line the whole movie has to be nonsense.
That tyrannical basterd crapped on the constitution and needlessly caused the death and suffering of hundreds of thousands of good americans. He could have done the right thing and took the federal governments boot off the neck of the south, instead he chose war
the south got screwed over and Stincoln Lincoln was a dirty rat basterd.
Obama loves Lincoln
I absolutely despise most of Hollywood, so I don’t go to movies.
That mouthless freak Ebert gave it 2 thumbs and another liberal ass-wipe material called rolling stone gave it good reviews too which means...
I won’t watch it. My neighbor told me it was just a cliched look at Lincoln. Libtard Spielberg supposedly just focused on him freeing slaves. Pretty much a liberal white guilt movie but it’s your time.
Saw it last weekend. She’s taking classes on Sunday afternoons. Saw Flight already, too. Don’t recommend it.
I try to go to the theater at least once every five years for real “movie theater popcorn”. I went to see “Trouble With The Curve” a couple months ago. I’m good for another five years. If it isn’t on TV or DVD, I usually wait. JMO.
Am I imagining this? Didn’t a few years back a lot claimed the civil war wasn’t fought to free the slaves but to, I don’t know, some other thing.
Now, all of a sudden they are back on track with it was to free the slaves?
That tears it.
I'll download it for free from fastpasstv when the DVD gets ripped.
haha, have you worked in “psy-ops”?
I go to movies more often now that my knees have gone away. I'd rather be out filling my doe tag (got my buck last weekend), but my knees are still punishing me for dragging that thing out of the woods.
