Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Oh Debby, your concern is noted.
For the fact it is SO one sided!!
That the concerned conservatives are "OBAMA-Bots" or "secret MUSLIMs" is insulting, disgusting and infuriating.
I don’t sew!

Well Deb maybe you should...
its very 1950s and stay-at-home-Momish..
You 'christians' ain't got the whole truth!
Hell, you'll probably vote for him twice.
0bama thanks you for your efforts to sow discord among conservatives on this conservative website.
Babbling is all you do.
It is a tactic of the left to call opposing opinions hate. You should ask yourself why the Mormons do it.
I first noticed this MO of Romney supporters in 2007. It was a marked proclivity, almost a marker, it was so consistent.
In Realville, voting for liberals guarantees bad outcomes. Romney is a liberal registered as a Republican. Voting for him is nuts. I don't care what Palin or Rush or Levin or anyone else says. You reap what you sow. I'm voting for a plurality to weaken whichever liberal wins.
For the fact it is SO one sided!!
***Well, a more apt description lately for such concern trolling is “For the fact it is SOW one sided!!”
Deb may not sew, but she does sow.
“Some of that has to be expected and endured, and ignored, if it becomes over done, over used, personal, and is creating logjams and hijackings, and too much bloodshed on threads, then a little slap down and a reminder of what freerepublic is, seems called for occasionally.”
You are right of course. I used to be of the mindset that GOP = Conservative and voted accordingly...and would have thought not voting for the GOP nominee was being a traitor. Of course, with my increasing age and experience I realize that is a naive view...but not something you can tell someone younger...or for that matter desparate to get rid of the current Dem POTUS.
“The last 3 months of an election year when freerepublic is against the GOP nominee, is going to be interesting and challenging.”
You know, from the posts I have read (especially in response to Jim’s post like this one) I am convinced that 75% of FR regulars are ABOs, and with the advent of Ryan that number has gone up. Those of us that oppose Romney, out of principle, may have to tone it down just to keep it from destroying the forum. I hate to back down like that, but at the same time I can’t see that I’m getting anyone to think, just pushing them into being more stubborn in their resolve to replace Obama with Romney, no matter how unsuitable Romney is for that purpose. Anyway, I’m probably going to post less often, and on threads where it won’t cause open warfare here on FR. I don’t like rabble rousers and if that all I can accomplish, it isn’t worth the effort. Besides, I know that ultimately America’s problems cannot be solved by political methods....they can only be made worse.
I am convinced that 75% of FR regulars are ABOs,
***true inundation by CINOs, as I’ve been saying for a few years.

I would like to see an idealogy litmus matrix here on Free Republic, but when I proposed it to Jimrob, he called me a newbie.

To: babygene I dont think hes all that interested.
To: MHGinTN It doesnt matter what a FReeper thinks. Its just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who were dealing with.

To: Jim Robinson Hah hah, thats great. I signed up 2 months after you and Im a newbie. Back then no one even said, Welcome to FR. But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs.
Ive been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESNT WANT US- SO WHATS NEXT?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=762#762
***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we dont have to drill down on every FReeping thread. Theyre wasting our time. Deliberately.
Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

LOL... great read.
////and I may find time to address them./////
your arrogance is not really appealing enough to entice me to go back and re post in-order to have anymore discussion with you......
you are a shining light for Christianity...../sarcasam
Had a thing for Opels. Made her feel all sexy.
Please read some of what I was responding to before butting in.
If babbling is what I do, boy, then babbling is what you do. Because your ‘romney’ comment is pretty much the same as my ‘obama’ comment.
I did.
romney is pretty much the same as obama.

I don’t agree with the “old guard” that can pretty much say what they want and get away with it. However, this is Jim’s website, not mine. Plus, I don’t contribute that much to maintain it. So, once again, I don’t see that I can complain. I also agree that the site is overrun with CINOs.
I agree with you that many of the original FReepers were probably more GOP loyalists than true conservatives (meaning to hold to all three legs of conservatism - SOCONism, NATDEFism, and Fiscalism). Many were of a very libertarian bent or just fiscally conservative. However, you can’t really blame Jim for being loyal to those he has traveled a long time with.
Hang in there. Keep records of those that rabidly promote an ABO agenda. You will note, should they get Romney elected, they will be the ones to scream the loudest when he screws up. So, watch and wait. It will be interesting.

I just checked you about page. You have been here since 1998! I’m surprized Jim would call you a Newbie. I’ve only been here since 2003 (I lurked for a time before). So, I’m a “Newbie” in the eyes of the Old Guard.
