Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

My 2nd youngest has many medical issues, his left side doesn’t work too well - will always live with us because of mental development issues, so anything that gets him to use his left hand and also get a sense of accomplishment is great.

The treatment of people like Jeff Head by Jimmy’s inner sanctum on this thread is disgusting. Disgusting.
None of the foregoing subjected the Roman Catholic Church (and by necessary implication each and every other pro-life church) to specific persecution as have BOTH Mittler and Obozo through their respective "health insurance" schemes. Romney's is worse on the persecution question. Mittler required the Roman Catholic Church to provide abortion coverage and sex change surgical coverage and other abominations in policies covering 90-year old nursing home confined, Alzheimer's suffering nuns and priests and Obozo did not. Small difference: minimal advantage to Obozo not that I would be caught alive or dead voting for either of them.
Mittler supports "gay" everything just like Obozo. Both are competing for fudgepackers' best supporter. Nothing to choose there.
Mittler supports turning innocent children over to lavender queens as though they were qualified to be adoptive substitute "parents." So does Obozo.
BOTH Obozo and Mittler are gun grabbers. Both are cpmmotted to farming ordinary folks on taxes to subsidize their megawealthy pals and supporters. Both favor what amounts to a certain path to socialized medicine. Both yearn for cap 'n' trade. Etc., Etc., Etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
BTW, I was talking about latae sententiae excommunication and not damnation. With all due respect, you are no more qualified to instruct me as to what "other serious Catholics say" than I am to instruct you as to what serious Reformed theologians may say or as to what they may think the Bible says. I avoid discussions in which I am called upon to aggravate my fellow FReepers over their respective religious commitments and beliefs. I thank them to return the favor. What suffices for me is that FReepers be people committed consistently to the principles which characterize FR's mission as to matters political. Mittler = Obozo = Beelzebub = Obozo = Mittler = Baal = Mittler = Obozo = Moloch = Obozo = Mittler. That is and will continue to be my position. I will vote for Tom Hoefling. I do not owe my vote to either Obozo or Mittler and neither will get it. I do not owe my POTUS vote to the GOP as currently constituted and the GOP will not get it. I owe absolutely nothing to the Romney pom pom girls who think I owe them my vote for their candidate. I don't and won't. I also don't claim to speak for God especially not in support of Mittler.
My vote is not a "secular nod." I don't check my Faith at the door of the voting place. However imperfectly, it follows me and is part of me wherever I go.

There are about 52 third parties, and a lot of them are conservative.
I think the electorate of today makes a huge difference compared with the electorate of 1856, when it comes to making sudden, bold, radical changes.
I also think that it makes a difference that there were only young parties, even the oldest party, the democrat party, was only about 30 years old at the time the republicans took the Presidency.
Well, there’s lots of accusations of hate, I’ll give you that, but it’s mostly RINOs or CINOs expressing their hatred for us “purists.”
“Hate” is a word (actually a political tool) invented and used by the evil side to encourage their followers to persecute the undesirables.

Jeff’s a great guy and has no problem speaking for himself. I don’t think he needs me to be a nanny for him. If he is seriously attacked to the point he needs to submit an abuse report, I’m sure that either me or one of the mods will be happy to take a look at it.

Give me a couple minutes and I’ll reset your FR cookie. After that you won’t be able to post again, unless you log in. If you do login again, then you really weren’t serious about leaving or you’re a glutton for punishment.
I want to conquer a vast, institutional party. I think Palin and a lot of tea party voters and some of our politicians do too.
As far as Romney goes, I won’t be voting for him, but I do expect that there will be a conservative plan to maximize our protest vote in some way that sends a unified message, I don’t mind waiting for the tea party, and/or JR’s ideas.
Medved probably likes things the way they are, with Romney, but his article is still informational.
