The “Mal-Val” youtube video at the link was posted by FReeper Polarik (Dr. Ron Polland) in August of 2011 and while morphing the image of a woman named “Val” into an image of Obama, he insinuates that “Val” is Obama’s mom. One year later this youtube has only 1,150 views.
In July 2012, two FReepers associated the woman, “Val,” in Polarik’s Youtube with Lebanese actress Valerie Sarruf and have posted multiple images of her at various ages on FR eligibility threads. I am opening this thread to invite discussion of and links to any evidence that either supports or refutes a claim that Valerie Sarruf is Barack Obama’s mother, with or without Malcolm X being his father.
Where could Malcolm X and Valerie Sarruf have been in 1960 when baby Barry would have been conceived? Is there any evidence that Sarruf could have been pregnant and delivered a baby in 1961? In what country could the baby have been delivered? How and when could the alleged Mal-Val baby have been inserted into the identity and life narrative of the person we have come to know as Barack Hussein Obama?
Full disclosure: I refute categorically all of the Mal-Val narrative as wildly speculative and unsupported by any evidence that I have seen so far.
For several years now a shadowy coterie of FReepers styling themselves as “researchers” has gone onto nearly every FR eligibility thread to aggressively refute all evidence that Stanley Ann Dunham was Barack Obama’s mother. They have actually declared flat out that she was never in Hawaii before 1963, contrary to the voluminous evidence including INS FOIA documents!
Requests for links or any evidence that Stanley Ann is NOT the mom have been frequently met with abusive ad hominem attacks and accompanied by claims that ALL documentary evidence showing her to have been in Hawaii in 1960 and 1961 is forged, but no credible evidence of forgery has offered. I make this observation as a retired Certified Fraud Examiner and CPA.
For years the “researchers” had claimed mysteriously to have conclusive evidence that a different woman is Barry’s mom, but refused to reveal her name or any evidence other than her picture because the “researchers” claimed it would disappear from the net and/or from hard copy archives of the records. But this month, the “researchers” appear to have slipped up and revealed that Valerie Sarruf has been the woman whose identity they have been “protecting.” They have since attempted to walk back the revelation, but it is clear, IMO.
The “researchers” claim that they earnestly want to remove Obama from office. But wouldn’t revealing ALL EVIDENCE of a foreign mother and foreign birth (which they also claim) be the most logical approach to removing Obama rather than hiding the identity of this alternative mother for years while attacking FR threads that sincerely attempt to find out where Stanley Ann Dunham was when she gave birth to Barry?
In my opinion, the best evidence that Valerie Sarruf is NOT Barry’s mother is the mountain of evidence that Stanley Ann Dunham IS his mother, which the “researchers” have totally failed to refute.
Again, please use this thread for discussion of and links to any evidence that either supports or refutes a claim that Valerie Sarruf IS Barack Obama’s mother with or without Malcolm X being his father.
In one of her articles she posted an image of a woman holding a child of whom she claimed she was showing you a photograph of the mysterious JOANNE Newman with her baby, the son of MX.
We traced that image to an archived copy of the publication MUHAMMAD SPEAKS (page 18) and discovered the issue in which that image appeared was printed in April 1962. The speech MX made during which it's claimed that photograph was taken was at a venue during the previous FEBRUARY. THE CHILD APPEARS TO BE HOW OLD? Only problem, how to tell when that photograph of mother and child was taken?
It's a photograph without any context, it might as well have been taken months before...and that girl identified as Joanne Newman looks suspiciously like Stanley Ann Dunham, although it's from the back of her head.
Nanny Dunham. You remember her don't you? Showed up with a baby at Susan Blake's and didn't know how to change a diaper? And that's the last time Susan saw her...and no one heard about her again in Seattle until someone found ANNA OBAMA listed in the directory.
I’m wondering about that SAD sighting with the still pinkish baby and not knowing how to change diapers. Made up out of whole cloth or partially true? Could SAD have stopped by on her way from there to here or here to there, with the child she was hired to care for? From what I’ve read and hopefully absorbed (some of), she was not taking care of Zero as a brand new baby, and why Seattle.
Regarding stirring trouble (muddying the waters?) a lot of bloggers/authors are doing that. Interesting. And I am not referring to anyone on FR (shoes fit can be worn, not pointing any fingers), just the increasing number of books like Maraniss’ and then Cashill’s pushing FMD as the father, and of course SAD the mother; I am disappointed in him, I thought he’d have better discernment.
My brother had a son who none of us saw after his mother took him away at the age of three. When I saw him as a grown man he had so many mannerisms just like my brother. So those are not necessarily learned they are born with them.
This is true, not only mannerisms, but tones of voice, expressions, all kinds of personality traits that one would not expect to be inherited are.

Stanley Ann Dunham did NOT carry the “African genes” that were found in members of the Bunch family. That’s a fact.
Without having maternal DNA evidence from Stanley Ann herself or from another woman in her direct maternal line, I do not believe a claim of “fact” is possible as to what Stanley Ann carried in her genes or not.
IMO, an honest, sincere investigator will NEVER overstate claims that evidence is “fact.”
Lolo Soetoro was a member of the Indonesian royal family. He raised Barack and Maya in a “royal environment” in his family’s compound in Yogyakarta.
What I said is fact IF you accept that Stanley Ann Dunham’s grandmother is descended from John Bunch.
I said, “the African genes that were found in members of the Bunch family.” Those genes are on the Y-chromosome. Stanley Ann, nor Madelyn, nor Leona McCurry carry THOSE genes.
I am an honest, sincere investigator, and I resemble your implication. (Yes, that’s a joke.)
My point was that even IF John Punch was father to John Bunch and even IF THAT particular John Bunch was the progenitor of Stanley Ann’s grandmother, genes on his Y-chromosome will NOT be found in Stanley Ann Dunham. Nor her son. Nor her daughter.
The DNA that was tested did not belong to Obama, or his mother, or his grandmother, or his great-grandmother.
SOME male members of the MANY Bunch families allegedly got their Y-chromosomes tested and some of them were found to have these so-called “African” genes.
You used the word “probable”, if I recall. I was simply pointing out that, as Rush Limbaugh said, it’s probably a fairytale. Professional genealogists know better.
The word “probable” that Rush correctly points to as not supporting a claim of fact referred to the assumption that the first John Bunch was the son of John Punch, the “first slave.” Rush does not question the African blood of the Bunches.
It is a fact that y-DNA testing proves that the Bunch family descendants of John Bunch and the next five male descendants of John Bunch all had in common African chromosome most probably originating from John Punch.
Between Barry and the last male Bunch ancestor, Nathaniel Bunch, are six generations of females who would NOT have African genes exclusive to the y-DNA chromosome, but who, none-the-less, would be descended from all of the male Bunches who did, as would Barry.

How could Stanley Ann Dunham be going to meet Obama Sr at Harvard on August 5th 1961 1 day after Obama Jr. was born? (That is if you believe the birth certificate)when Obama Sr. didn't leave to go to Harvard until June 22nd 1962 and how could Abercrombie know Stanley and Obama SR well (like he said) when Blake says Obama Sr was already at Harvard and Stanley left Hawaii the day after Jr was born.

Um...”One day, after Barry was born,” (the way it was written) is not the same as “One day after Barry was born,” (the way you are interpreting it)! The placement of the comma makes the phrase mean “One day, a day sometime after Barry was born,..” She is qualifying the day that Stanley Ann came to visit and she is saying it was a day that was after Barry was born. IOW, the “day” in the phrase references the day of the visit by Stanley Ann and she notes it was after Barry was born.
Remember that Blake was about 66 years old trying to remember events 46 years earlier involving the ridiculously complex narrative of Stanley Ann’s romance in the one year since she graduated with her from Mercer HS.
At the time of this interview, the only narrative was Barry’s (and Ayers’) “Dreams” fantasy, the fantasy sold to the nation on which Barry was elected based on his 2004 speech at the convention. This narrative was a big lie because it hid her year at U of WA, but the Blake interview was before the lie was revealed. So the media conducting the interviews and perhaps even Blake herself were likely intentionally or unwittingly forcing her account of her meeting with Stanley Ann into the “Dreams” template...the only one out there at the time...with the little family in Hawaii for “two years” before BHO Sr. left for Harvard.
So to fit the “Dreams” narrative, the visit to Blake had to be framed by the media and by her (after someone likely had a talk with her) was that Stanley Ann and Barry were passing through...Oh yeah...it was to check out Harvard, that’s it!...Not the truth, which was Stanley Ann and Barry were in Seattle because she was enrolled at a university in Seattle, just as the FOIA INA docs anticipated.
