This is something I suggested to someone at FR years ago. People use language in a way that is characteristic to them. With enough examples, it’s possible to spot further examples with a pretty good reliability. FR has a huge database that would be excellent for data mining.

A zot occurs when a troublesome poster, usually a newby troll(though there may be some long time freeper who gets huffy and decide he/she wants to leave the site in a spectacular fashion), gets kicked off the site. Yet, the fun occurs when wise posters wish to “toy” with such a poster for a little bit, hence the appearance of pictures of “viking kitties” and bolts of lightning; wise ass retorts to such an one may also be posted...before the admin mods boots the miscreant into the fiery liberal internet abyss!

It’s a thing that notices when people post the F word.
A zot is what happens when someone who effectively expresses an opinion contrary to that of some long time freeper who gets huffy and decides he/she wants the person who holds the contrarian opinion and is not convinced by the long-time freepers brilliant arguments to leave the site in a spectacular fashion.
Usually the “zot” is preceeded by the offending poster being called newbie, n00b, troll, etc. by the long-time freepers who have decided to get together and alert the mods that the troublesome poster is not agreeing with them.
