Voted for Newt in SC’s GOP primary. Beginning to think I might do more good as a registered Democrat, as I was until Carter.

Better objective: Vote in gridlock unless we have an actual conservative running for President. That minimizes the damage during the times when the tyrants are in charge. The only time we should have legislation (or the repeal of said legislation) soaring through unchecked is when a conservative is leading the party.

“Look at it this way...it’s not a vote for Romney, but a vote against Obama.”

Look at it this way: It’s a vote for Romney.

You can move the words around all you like but you are voting for Romney.

There is no such thing as a “vote against”. We just use the phrase to make us feel better about doing the same stupid thing over and over and over.

I bailed out of the GOP years ago.

They are all riding in the same limo.

Bottom line, the government and all those in it are corrupt to the core.

Fixing government by traditional means is not even an option.

Perzactly! And isn’t this what Conservatives (Tea Party types, if you prefer) have been trying to do since 2010? It’s better than just going along.

"Not voting is a perilous position. Mr. Obama cannot be allowed another term."

No one has said they will skip the election and not vote, so why would you imply that's the case?

Speaking for myself, I intend to vote for the Constitution Party's presidential candidate, Virgil Goode, and for any conservatives downticket. My conscience and my responsibility to God will not allow me to cast a vote for an abortion-enabling, homosexual-loving liberal.

“...If you don’t vote against Obama”

The only way to vote “against” Obama is to not vote for Obama.

Did anybody here say they were voting for Obama?

But really, there is no line on the ballot that says “against”.

You only get to vote “for”.

“He only got to where he is because of Daddy’s money.”

I thought his father’s estate was given entirely to charity, and Romney made his money himself. Even if he did inherit money...so what? Are you saying we should have a death/estate tax of 100%?

I live in MA where you can be a Democrat, a Republican,
or an “Unenrolled”. The last one means you can choose
either ballot in a primary. In the past after getting a ballot
of one party or the other, you would have to go to a table
and sign something to change back. Not any more, no need.

In 2004 I was able to vote against John Kerry TWICE (first
time, John Edwards...ha). The unenrolleds in MA outnumber
the Republicans. They may even outnumber Democrats.

(Checking) Hmm. yes. As of 2010:
http://boston.cbslocal.com/2010/09/08/overall-ma-voter-registration-down-slightly/

>>Secretary of State William Galvin announced Wednesday that 4.15 million people were registered to vote in next week’s party primaries.

Of that, 1.5 million are Democrats, or 37 percent of the total. Another 471,000 are Republicans, equalling 11.4 percent of the total. And 2.1 million – or 51.4 percent – are unenrolled in any party.

Let me repeat that:
UNENROLLED: 51.4 %
DEMOCRAT: 37
REPUBLICAN: 11.4

"There is a God. Perhaps He has turned us over to ourselves. In any case we have lost any and all semblance of conservatism and of being a broadly Christian nation, the very foundations of a once great nation and those who represented them are finished."

You know RitaOK, you're correct! All though HE works in mysterious ways, I also do believe that G_D has turned us over to our reprobate minds and we are no longer his client nation.

Just reading what a lot of these posters are saying and you'd get the impression you were talking to the GOP-E, Senate and House leadership............. the Republican politicians that have made an art form out of rolling over rather than fighting thereby causing us to be in the positon this country now finds itself. With all the information out there on Romney the people, including some of our posters, choose to remain willfully ignorant of what will happen in the long run should Romney (in the unlikely event) get the presidency. Kiss the conservative movement goodbye because he'll be the head of the Republican party and all appointments thereto! Concentrating on getting Conservatives in the House and Senate is a far better move than chancing a Romney presidency.

As has been said, in the choice the lesser of two evils you still have evil no matter how much lipstick you put on that sucker! Let'r rip!
