Typeface analysis shows images come from different machines
The online image of a Hawaiian "Certificate of Live Birth" was trumpeted by the White House when it was released on April 27 as "proof positive" that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Now an expert in typefaces and typography says it sure was "proof," but not of what the White House would have wanted.
Paul Irey, a retired professional typographer with 50 years experience in his business, has says an analysis of the typefaces used in the Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate that the White House released on April 27 reveals it absolutely to be a forgery.
"My analysis proves beyond a doubt that it would be impossible for the different letters that appear in the Obama birth certificate to have been typed by one typewriter," Irey told WND.
"Typewriters in 1961 could not change the size and shape of a letter on the fly like that," he said. "This document is definitely a forgery."
Irey acknowledges that an IBM Selectric typewriter could have produced different typefaces in a given document, but only if the Selectric ball was changed every time a different typeface letter was struck which would be unlikely to have been done to produce the word "Student," for example, that had two different styles of the lower case "t."

I haven't analyzed the document at all.
All your bilge about WND, Corsi, Alex Jones and the rest is a straw man argument since I never mentioned them or any of those other speculations about the LFBC. You make things up to make your points.
Other birthers, including one guy here on FR that posts NBC spam on what seems like every single thread, ...
I don't care what anyone else has said. Are you addressing that issue to me because you can't debate it with them?
Here is your problem - NO prosecutors, courts, law enforcement agencies, conservative politicians, conservative commentators etc, buy any of this stuff.
That's not my problem.
Obama is an anti-business, socialist who has enemies all over the place who'd love nothing more than to have actual evidence that could bring him down, but what you guys are cranking out is just not persuasive - I mean none of it.
I haven't "cranked out" anything so that is more made up BS from you. I notice you haven't come up with diddly squat on any other issue to bring down Hussein.
This is an interesting analysis.
Very reminiscent of the Dan Rather scandal.
Like I said...NOT identical. They are similar, but if you are trying to claim they were copied and pasted, then they would be identical. And this is just one example of many differences between the two boxes.
This is the area in the middle at the bottom of each box.
Actually, they’re the same. You’ve got an altered image there.
Not that it matters. But they’re the same.
It's in keeping with birther standards of evidence.
You don’t know what you’re talking about. They are identical. The only differences that you are seeing is from the green background paper.
Seriously? Take a look at these, from that page I mentioned:
Are you telling me those k's and 7's look like they're from the same "font."
Oh, and look what else I found:
KERNING!!!
Ah. Got it. Lol.
Yup. Deformed like that deformed e. Or any of the other obviously deformed characters displayed on that exhibit.
And the error in the age was more likely a clerical error, or an error made by whomever supplied the information at the time.
Perhaps you guys should concentrate on getting a copy direct from Hawaii rather than inventing a bunch of conspiracy theories. It’s almost like a cottage industry.
IOWs you intentionally used a second-hand source and misrepresented it to be a smart ass and have no credibility when it comes to honest debate.
Bail money. Definitely bail money.
I suspect we will also need five pounds of red currants and a splitting maul. If you could pick those up, it would be appreciated.
Re-read what I wrote.
The source I used was what two separate posters on this thread offered as proof. They both claimed something that I refuted...based on their document. If they want to offer a different document, I may offer a different conclusion. And maybe not.
But the smart ass accusation probably has some truth to it.
Not as much as the lack of credibility accusation. ;-)
My family has an open account at the bailbondsmen, so I'm all set.
no kerning there at all. Every single ‘u’ on that page is the same and always aligned to the left. Every column on the page is aligned. The ‘d’s, ‘k’s and ‘7’s are all the same, except some are lighter than others. Maybe you should stick to a subject that you know more about.
I know that's not really kerning. My point is, it's exactly the same kind of "kerning" birthers claim to find on the birth certificate, that they claim typewriters could never do.
The ds, ks and 7s are all the same
They are as much the same as the letters Irey is making such a fuss about. The 'k' on the left has a straight ascender and the bottom diagonal meets the top diagonal in the middle; the 'k' on the right has a curved ascender and the diagonals extend from the end of a horizontal line. These are even better examples of tampering than Irey' 't's!
Maybe you should stick to a subject that you know more about.
Believe me, I know more than enough about this subject.
I have a few libs in mind.....
The IBM Composer was IBM’s attempt to get into the typestting market in the early 70s. It was based on the Selectric, and had a magnetic card for storage and a composing unit about twice the size of today’s desktop computer box. Typesetting was done on the Selectric, recorded on the card, then played back using the Composer unit running the Selectric. The second pass through of the work could produce justified copy, or ragged left, ragged right, or centered type. Type sizes were adjustable up to about 14 or 16 pt, and there was limited kerning. If I remember correctly, it was also capable of setting inferiors and superiors, so it could be used for some mathematical typesetting.
