Typeface analysis shows images come from different machines
The online image of a Hawaiian "Certificate of Live Birth" was trumpeted by the White House when it was released on April 27 as "proof positive" that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Now an expert in typefaces and typography says it sure was "proof," but not of what the White House would have wanted.
Paul Irey, a retired professional typographer with 50 years experience in his business, has says an analysis of the typefaces used in the Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate that the White House released on April 27 reveals it absolutely to be a forgery.
"My analysis proves beyond a doubt that it would be impossible for the different letters that appear in the Obama birth certificate to have been typed by one typewriter," Irey told WND.
"Typewriters in 1961 could not change the size and shape of a letter on the fly like that," he said. "This document is definitely a forgery."
Irey acknowledges that an IBM Selectric typewriter could have produced different typefaces in a given document, but only if the Selectric ball was changed every time a different typeface letter was struck which would be unlikely to have been done to produce the word "Student," for example, that had two different styles of the lower case "t."

Thank you for that astute observation Auntie Mame! I agree 100% - this is the one article that clinched it for me, because I know better.
There is no way anyone, or any group of clerical workers, would start typing a form on one typewriter, rip it out of the machine before finishing the word, then take it over to a completely different typewriter and try to line it back up to finish the word. NONE. Despite the assurances of some obvious bots on this thread that would have us believe that not only was that done, but was done routinely! Absolute absurdity!!
I've noticed that. Instead she wants everyone to believe that all the typists in the clerical pool down at the Hawaii DOH back in 1961 would routinely run around half-typing documents, jumping around from typewriter to typewriter.
Regarding post #241, yes it goes without saying alignment and so forth has been discussed in previous articles and you bring up the obvious issues.
But this newer article, the different typefaces, is the one that hits me even more than alignment issues. You just can’t change the typefaces, particularly within a word, on the same typewriter. Not in 1961. And even if you had the one typewriter then that COULD have done it, the IBM selectric, it wouldn’t have been doable or routine even then. Just not possible.
While the alignment issue can be argued back and forth, like Dan Rather’s typeface mistake, this multiple typeface mistake on one document is clear proof of forgery.
Why don’t you simplify the copy ... how about “Room temperature IQ (Celsius)”?

Lets go one by one. 1) The debate and eligibility are about ‘natural born’ not ‘native’ born 2)How about recognizing that all these other ‘how abouts’ are seriously tied to Obama and his beliefs. As such it seems to me that anything that will bear on Obama’s politics including his eligibility to have such powerful influence should be open for discussion. People will differ as to importance and personal priorities but it is best ‘to each his own’. 3) I don’t think I am a pouty child or crazy for trying to find if my Constitution is being usurpted.
So let's get this straight so we can fully appreciate the level of crazy you've sunk to:
In your world of delusion, not only is there a giant birth certificate conspiracy, but there is an even more massive conspiracy of threats against virtually all of our conservative radio/TV/print personalities to include Levin, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, etc, who, because of these threats, remain silent on the birther stuff but are apparently free to attack Hussein on everything else. Further, ALL of these conservative commentators, radio hosts, writers, etc, keep these threats against them super secret instead of going to any authority or letting their audiences know what is going on.
In addition to this giant web of conspiracies you've managed to create in your mind, you believe the President should be hanged - along with some/much of the media, apparently most of Congress, the Secret Service, the FBI, every Judge who rejects these birther claims, almost every state legislature, people who disagree with you about this issue on FR (presumably you think I should be hanged as well), etc. Hanged.
So not only do you believe in goofy conspiracies that reasonable and rational conservatives have long ago dismissed as nonsense, you are arguing for the hanging of the President, most of Congress, and much of the Judiciary. Worse your calling for the hanging of tens of thousands of people who's only crime is rejecting your birth certificate conspiracies and disagreeing with you about the birther issue - and your list of those you want to hang is "becoming bigger every day".

Thank you for taking the time to explain it. I had a basic understanding of proportional spacing but only since the home computer age, and you explained it very well. I’ll have to think about it; kerning, sounds like the actual font design, the serifs; I’ve seen it talked about on a font forum where they would try to id fonts for you so you could try to find them and install them on your computer.
