THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) Dutch forensic experts are testing a piece of bone found on the Caribbean island of Aruba to see if it comes from missing American teenager Natalee Holloway, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
Experts first will establish whether the bone is human before comparing its DNA to that of Holloway, said Netherlands Forensic Institute spokeswoman Inge Oevering.

My thoughts exactly.
My two cents — too crooked to be Natalee’s teeth.
Actually, I hate to say this, but there are a lot of people in third world countries that have much better teeth than young Americans.
Has a lot to do with the amount of sugar consumed.
I am also a bit confused by the two pictures. In the first the tooth enamel is almost entirely gone, while in the second it appears to be back. The molars also seem more worn in the first picture than the second.
I also don’t see any apparent fillings or crowns and I find it hard to believe she didn’t have at least one filling. Appears to be an older person with more wear.
Yes, maybe you are right. I thought no when I first saw them, but it would be good if they were her teeth. Her poor mother needs any part at all of Natalee to bring home with her to bury ...
Yes, to be sure I have no idea of the effect of sea and sand on a jaw bone, just my guess.
Eskimos in 1900 had better teeth than Westerners. Sugar is a low cost vice these days. The teeth are also remarkably straight. Looks like professional work to me.

Thanks, truthluva.
My first thought was to imagine what it must be like to be Natalee’s mom or dad, and suddenly I see a picture of what might be my little girl’s jawbone. Horrific.
I have a sinking feeling that they have found Natalee.
God be with her parents.
No fillings.
I don’t know, Palladin. I just have a feeling this jawbone is not hers. No specific reason, just doesn’t seem likely. But, I guess we will see.
Have they said how long it will take for the DNA results?
I believe you are correct. I saw a rough translation of the article on a different website and it indicated the picture of the jawbone was a stock photo image; the jawbone recovered had only one tooth with it. The translations were extremely rough but that was the gist.
Yep. Leave it to Aruba to put a fake photo in their newspapers.
There is a video out there where Jossy Mansur is claiming the jawbone found belongs to a young, white person. But, that is Jossy saying it.

Thanks for the link. I also see they should be able to get a good DNA sample. Time will tell...if the facts are allowed to develop.
Thanks for the ping, LucyT.
Something has changed. Turning over evidence isn’t Aruba’s usual SOP. Most evidence never got past Dolph Richardson’s desk drawer before being declared irrelevant. Any evidence that was sent to NL usually fermented in that desk drawer first. Aruba can turn blood into chocolate...
Thanks!
